FUTURE FORM | Bledisloe House | Occupying the rooftop of Bledisloe House, the executive lounge is designed as a place to step away from the working day. Opening onto a terrace with sweeping views across Auckland, it brings together spaces for meetings, quiet conversation and informal gathering.⁠

Every intervention responds quietly to the building's modernist architecture. Inspired by the original structural grid, the design balances sculptural forms, custom joinery and contemporary artworks against the enduring character of the original concrete structure.⁠

FUTURE FORM | Bledisloe House | Every decision began with the building itself. Inspired by Bledisloe House's original structural grid, our design concept 'The Grid, Activated' reimagines one of New Zealand's most significant civic modernist buildings as a contemporary destination for work, hospitality and culture.⁠
⁠
Throughout the private members' club, hospitality spaces and boardrooms, new interventions sit quietly alongside the original architecture. Board-formed concrete remains the defining feature, with terrazzo, custom joinery, sculptural lighting and contemporary artworks carefully layered into its next chapter.⁠

FUTURE FORM | Bledisloe House | A first look inside the private members' club at Bledisloe House, where the bar, curved banquette and lounge settings have been designed to encourage conversation, connection and a slower way of gathering.⁠

Our Principal Jeremy Bull, says, "We were drawn to the architectural significance of the building and the opportunity to create a workplace experience unlike anything currently available in Auckland.⁠

The building was originally conceived as an expression of optimism and progress, and our ambition has been to honour that spirit while creating a workplace experience that reflects how people want to work, gather and connect today."⁠

IN IDEATION | Conceived as a private wellness retreat with hotel grade amenity, the space includes a steam room, ice bath, dual showers and plunge pool with a hammam style heated stone alcove.⁠
⁠
A vaulted ceiling ⁠reminiscent of Roman baths is fabricated in slurry-rendered brick and paired with timeless grey-veined Carrara stone tiles and portals.

ON THE DRAWING BOARD | Higher Ground House | ⁠The concept for this guest bedroom ensuite was guided by the client's preference for chalky, aged materiality that felt as if it had evolved over time, rather than feeling too polished and newly instated. ⁠
⁠
Carrara stone applied in tumbled and honed finishes across the floor, skirting and portals creates a timeless base palette accented by aged brass hardware. An ogee edge vanity with a curved splashback and Shaker profile drawers add a layer of traditional detailing⁠.

ON THE DRAWING BOARD | Higher Ground House | This visualisation reveals the kitchen and adjoining butlers pantry, which opens out to a terrace with harbour views.⁠
⁠
In order to resolve the wide transition to the pantry, our team introduced an arch threshold and glazed partition wall with detailed timber beading and stone ledge. It embraces transparency into a typically back of house prep space, creating a moment of theatre much like a hospitality venue.⁠
