A pool should earn its place on the days you don’t swim.

You’ll still look towards it over breakfast, sit beside it in the afternoon and see it from the living room after dark. Those everyday encounters deserve a place in its design.

Planting can replace the view of a boundary fence with greenery. Space for seating gives you a reason to stay by the water. Lighting brings another part of the garden into view once the doors are closed for the evening.

Whether you choose a preformed pool or a custom design, there’s considerable scope to make the setting individual. Its position, finishes and relationship with the surrounding rooms all contribute. The same pool can feel entirely different in two gardens.

Planning the home and pool together lets those decisions inform each other, creating somewhere you enjoy spending time even when swimming wasn’t the plan.

A varied portfolio makes it important to be precise about what stays consistent.

For Worthington Homes, that consistency sits in how we assess a design: against the brief, the site and the relationships between its parts.

A larger opening can improve daylight while introducing questions of privacy and structure. Moving a room can improve one connection and complicate another. These choices need to be understood together.

Our design and construct approach brings a responsibility to work through both the architectural intent and the practical consequences of those decisions. The brief provides a reference for judging what should change, what should be retained and why.

The finished homes can have very different identities. We want the reasoning behind each one to be evident in its planning, proportions and construction details, and understandable to the people commissioning it.

No signature style. A signature standard.

This tree helped shape the house.

At our Junction House project, the established jacaranda at the rear and frangipani at the front were retained. Their forms became a reference for the architecture, influencing the curves of the façade and the pergola.

Keeping them meant allowing what was already on the block to influence what we added. That decision carries through the home, connecting its street presence to the circular opening above the outdoor lounge.

Within a site just 12 metres wide, the pool, cabana and outdoor cinema bring new ways to spend time outside. The jacaranda gives those spaces something already established: scale, shade and a canopy to sit beneath.

Part of this home’s identity was growing here long before we arrived.

We’re celebrating a significant achievement for Worthington Homes, with both Lighthouse and Everest named finalists in the 2026 BDAA National Design Awards.

Our Oran Park homes were an opportunity to show the full capability of our team. From the architecture and interiors through to the complexity of construction, they bring together the expertise we have worked hard to build within Worthington.

To have both recognised nationally is something we’re genuinely excited about.

As a design and construct business, recognition from the Building Designers Association of Australia is particularly meaningful. It puts our in-house design expertise in the spotlight and gives the people behind these homes a well-deserved moment of recognition.

We see their contribution every day: the ideas developed, the details worked through and the commitment to getting them right on site. These nominations give us an opportunity to share that pride beyond our own team.

We look forward to the national awards in Canberra this October.

Rather than treating outdoor space as something beyond the home, Monolith House draws it into the architecture.

Deep balconies, sheltered terraces and the pool are shaped by the same strong planes that define the façade. Each opening feels carved from the home’s solid form, creating places that are protected and private, while remaining open to light, air and the surrounding outlook.

Here, outdoor living is not an addition to the plan. It is held within the architecture.

Everest has been named a finalist in the 2026 Master Builders NSW Excellence in Housing Awards, within the Display Homes: $1 Million & Over category.

While ambitious in scale, Everest is grounded by restraint. Walnut, natural stone, muted green and deep plum recur throughout the home, giving each space its own atmosphere without losing the continuity of the wider design.

The impact comes not from treating every element as a feature, but from knowing where to introduce richness, where to create contrast and where to let the architecture hold the room.

This recognition celebrates the many design, construction and interior decisions that allowed a complex home to feel composed as one.

Hill House has been named a finalist in the 2026 Master Builders NSW Excellence in Housing Awards, within the Design & Construct House: $1.4 million–$2 million category.

Designed in response to its elevated site, the home draws light and outlook through its everyday spaces, while natural stone, expansive glazing and a restrained interior palette create a sense of continuity throughout.

This recognition gives us a welcome reason to revisit Hill House and celebrate the considered work behind its design and construction.

Congratulations to our team, trades, suppliers and clients who brought this home to life.

At Hillview, ease is built into the distance between spaces.

The kitchen sits closely beside the dining area, the garden becomes a natural extension of the room, and the path from the front door through the home remains open and legible.

These are quiet planning decisions, but together they shape a home that feels intuitive to move through and comfortable to live in, both now and over time.

Two homes, each presenting a very different way of living.

Everest unfolds across three levels, including a full basement, pool, lift, w**e room and sauna. Lighthouse brings openness to a narrow-lot plan through long sightlines, an atrium and an open stair.

Both homes are now available to experience through a private guided walkthrough at Oran Park.

The Kimberley was designed around a tension: how to give a home of this scale presence without allowing it to feel heavy.

A solid, low-lying base anchors the façade, while linear steelwork defines the upper form. Timber panelling brings warmth to the structure, with deep recesses and concealed lighting changing how its weight is perceived throughout the day. After dark, the upper level appears to hover above the entry.

There is no applied ornament. Its character comes from proportion, contrast and the construction precision needed to bring those opposing elements into balance.

Winner of the 2025 MBA Excellence in Housing Award for Design & Construct, $2 million to $2.5 million.
