A lot of work went into this one.

A complete restoration of this beautiful Marseille terracotta tiled roof, with extensive work required well beyond simply replacing the tiles.

Several sections of the roof structure had significantly sagged over time, requiring us to carefully rebuild and straighten sections of the roof before the new roofing system could be installed.

Works included extensive structural roof repairs, new battens and sarking, Marseille terracotta tiles, detailed valleys and flashings, restoration of the existing chimneys and reinstatement of the traditional ridge and finial details.

A challenging roof with plenty of detail, but an extremely rewarding transformation.

Another beautiful home restored and protected for the future.

Not all roofing projects are created equal.

Heritage church restorations are some of the most challenging projects we undertake. Steep roof pitches, difficult access, ageing structures and intricate architectural details all demand a level of planning and craftsmanship that goes far beyond a standard roofing project.

The restoration of St Aidan’s Anglican Church, Exeter was no exception.

The project involved restoring the church’s copper roofing and rainwater system, along with carefully repairing the original Welsh slate roof. Every slate repair had to blend seamlessly with the existing roof, preserving its historic character while ensuring it remains weathertight for many years to come.

Working on heritage buildings means there are no shortcuts. Every piece of copper is measured, fabricated and installed by hand, every slate repair requires patience and precision, and the difficult access means every stage of the work has to be carefully planned before a single tool is lifted.

A massive thank you to our team, who put in an incredible effort from start to finish. They worked through some long days, tackled every challenge the project threw at them, and never compromised on quality. The level of craftsmanship, pride and attention to detail they brought to this restoration was outstanding, and the finished result is a credit to every one of them.

It was a privilege to help preserve such a beautiful and historically significant church, and we’re looking forward to sharing more photos and drone footage of the completed restoration soon.

From slate to tile — a fresh new look in heart of Vaucluse🏡✨

This full roof replacement has completely transformed the home, replacing the original slate with Monier shingle. Complemented by new Colorbond guttering and downpipes, the shingle awning roofs tie it all together, adding depth and character to an already beautiful property.

Early mornings on the roof.☀️

Sunrise over Sydney from a rooftop in Stanmore while the city slowly wakes up. Moments like this remind us why we love what we do — working high above the streets restoring and building roofs that will last for generations.

A fresh day, a fresh start, and the My Slate Roofing team already getting it done.

Botany looking sharp 👌

We’ve recently completed this beautiful project featuring a cedar shingle awning and facade, paired with reclaimed Welsh slate to a section of the main roof.

The warmth and texture of natural cedar against the character and longevity of genuine Welsh slate is a combination that never dates. Timeless materials, installed properly, will outlast trends every time.

The reclaimed Welsh slate was carefully selected and graded to ensure consistency while maintaining that heritage character. Every slate individually fixed. Every detail considered.

The cedar shingles bring depth and craftsmanship to the street frontage — a real feature element that will silver off beautifully over time.

Natural materials. Traditional methods. Built to last.

This stunning cedar shingle façade was recently completed by the team ✨

We wrapped this bay extension in premium western red cedar shingles, giving it that warm, natural texture that only real timber can deliver. The detail through the corners, window reveals and base courses really sets it off 🔥 Over time, these shingles will weather beautifully and soften into that classic silver-grey tone.

On this project we also installed the new Colorbond roof and rainwater goods, tying everything in with the existing structure. And to top it off, we completed the full roof replacement to the main property last year – always great to come back and continue improving a home we’ve already worked on.

Quality materials, quality clients. Awsome work boys 🤝👏
