Vale Peter Mould (1948 - 2026.
You may not have have known of him, but Peter was a champion of the public interest in all its facets.
He was the 22nd NSW Government Architect (2006-12), & continued to advise nationally on public projects & on behalf of public clients up until his death.
Peter will be sorely missed.
Condolences to his family.

Inside Qtopia Sydney, today proudly housed in former Darlinghurst Police Station that once was at epicentre of brutality & victimisation towards community, now with cells transformed into living artworks.

One of our earliest projects (with Peter John Cantrill) was the design of a pair of compact houses on a steep south-facing site in Northbridge.
Each just 125m2, on 12 slender steel columns, structural frame erected in 1 day, clad in jarrah, inside sequence of spatial volumes/outlook, leading to roof terraces atop.

Mature angophoras & lush ferns retained

Big tree - Little houses - Narrow street

Before the 1960’s Sydney’s inner suburbs were bleak & treeless. Then the there was a huge cultural change, both in street tree planting & inserting eucalypts in the tiny yards, so improving the character & environment of the hot dark places.

This is tiny Seale St in Darlinghurst - so many lessons to learn on how to green the newer hostile suburbs across our cities.
