Fault identified.
Thermal anomalies were evident at the bathroom entry threshold waterstop.
Controlled wetting of the shower ledge resulted in water ingress behind the wall tiling.
The water tracked down behind the tiled finish into the screed, then migrated beneath the bathroom floor tiling toward the bathroom entry.
Importantly, testing demonstrated that the bathroom entry waterstop had not failed.
The migrating water was visibly arrested on the bathroom side of the waterstop. As water continued to accumulate within the tiled floor assembly, it rose to the finished floor surface immediately in front of the waterstop.
Once sufficient water had accumulated, surface tension allowed the water to bridge over the top of the waterstop, resulting in water egress beyond the waterproofed wet-area boundary and onto the adjoining hallway flooring.
This provided a clear observable water path:
Shower ledge ingress → concealed migration behind the wall tiling → screed → bathroom floor assembly → water arrested at the entry waterstop → water rising to the surface → bridging over the waterstop → hallway flooring.
The waterstop itself remained effective in preventing subsurface migration beyond the bathroom threshold.
