Happy Monday! Today we’re introducing Jordan 👋

Jordan joined the crew back in August. Before joining us, he worked as a Chippy, and he’s now taken on the role of Dogman while also lending a hand in the workshop. 🔨💪

When he’s not at work, you’ll usually find Jordan behind the camera 📸. On the weekends, he enjoys photography, with a particular passion for capturing the surf. 🌊

This Monday, we’re introducing Nick!

Nick joined the crew in August as a Rigger/Dogman, bringing his skills, experience and can-do attitude to the team.

When he’s not on the job, you’ll usually find Nick making the most of his spare time, whether that’s hitting the gym, catching a wave or relaxing at the beach. 🏋️‍♂️🌊☀️

Meet Tim, one of our newer Riggers who officially joined the crew last month!
He’s already making a huge impact on site with his rigging expertise, ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and right on schedule.
When he’s off the clock, you can usually find him spending quality time with his kids or out on the water casting a line 🎣.
That said, he did confess that part of his weekend strategy involves hiding from his kids too.
We’re pumped to have Tim on board. Just don't ask him to share his secret hiding spots.

Meet Kerian, who joined the Origin Cranes team last month! As a self-proclaimed "jack of all trades," Kerian pulls double duty as both a Crane Operator and Rigger, drawing on his background as a former spray painter. On top of his skills on site, he's also known for bringing top-tier lunches to work every day.

When he’s off the tools, Kerian loves spending his weekends hanging out with his kids. He's also currently counting down the days until his upcoming holiday to Vanuatu! 🌴✈️

🎉10 YEARS OF ORIGIN CRANES!🎉

On September 6, 2016, Origin Cranes officially began, but the story started a little earlier over a BBQ between two mates.

Dan Wright and Brad Sugden met at a BBQ and, by the end of the night, had decided they should start a crane hire company together. The following week, while watching the footy and talking through their plans, they decided to make it happen, and Origin Cranes was born.

On September 6, Brad and Dan’s father, Ray, headed to an auction and purchased our first two 20-tonne cranes. As fate would have it, Dan’s youngest daughter was born the very same day, so while Dan was on the Sunshine Coast for the birth, he was still connected to the auction over the phone!

From there, the cranes were painted, fitted out and put to work. With no big client list waiting, Brad and Dan simply drove around the Sunshine Coast, walked onto building sites, introduced themselves and asked for an opportunity.

Ten years later, what a journey it has been.

We’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of clients, being part of incredible projects and, most importantly, building friendships and relationships that go far beyond business.

A huge thank you to every past and present employee who has helped build Origin Cranes, including our operators, riggers, dogmen, truck drivers and everyone behind the scenes.

A special thank you to Mitch for keeping allocations moving, Robbie Ewen for wearing just about every hat in the company, Mark and the Mechanic team for keeping the fleet running, and Mieke and the wonderful office ladies for keeping everything together behind the scenes.

And, of course, thank you to our clients for trusting and supporting us over the past decade.

Through the challenges, long days, early starts and plenty of good times, Brad and Dan remain great business partners and, more importantly, the best of mates.

From a BBQ and two 20-tonne cranes to 10 years of Origin Cranes, thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey.

Here’s to the next 10! 🍻🏗️
