💧 Can you really have a low-chlorine pool?

If you’re after softer-feeling water and less chlorine smell, a freshwater system could be worth exploring.

Our pool technicians have had positive experiences with Naked Freshwater. It combines copper and silver ionisation with oxidation to help manage algae, bacteria and other contaminants, while using much lower chlorine levels than a traditional pool system.

Good water balance is essential to getting the best results. pH plays a big part in how effectively the system works, with Naked recommending a range of 7.2–7.6. That’s why we recommend including an automatic pH dosing unit wherever possible.

The best choice depends on your pool, existing equipment and swimming habits. Having someone explain the options can help you find a system that suits your backyard.

💦 MEET THE TEAM... Bob | Jim's Pool Care Palmwoods 💦

If you live in Palmwoods and surrounding areas, we'd love you to meet Bob... one of the friendly faces helping keep local pools sparkling! 😊

Bob has been part of the Jim's Pool Care family for the past two years. Before joining us, he worked as a plumber and gas fitter, bringing years of practical experience and problem solving skills to every pool he looks after.

One of the things Bob enjoys most about the job is simply being outdoors. Every day is different, and there's nothing better than helping local families enjoy a clean, healthy pool.

Over the years he's come across a few unexpected visitors too... including turtles taking a dip! 🐢

When we asked for his best pool care tip, Bob's answer made us smile...

Away from work, you'll usually find Bob spending time with family and friends or heading off for a spot of fishing. 🎣 He's a beach person through and through, loves an early sunrise, enjoys summer, prefers relaxing at a resort, and never says no to a good Mexican meal... especially if there's a coffee afterwards! ☕🌮

His dream holiday destination? Mauritius. 🌴

One of the things Bob loves most about servicing Palmwoods is the beautiful scenery. It's one of those places where every day reminds you why the Sunshine Coast is such a great place to call home.

💦 Meet Shaun & Neish... The Dynamic Duo Looking After Eumundi's Pools 💙

If you've got a pool in Eumundi, chances are you'll see Shaun and Neish out and about keeping it crystal clear.

After joining Jim's Pool Care six months ago, this dynamic duo has quickly built a reputation for friendly service, reliability and genuine care for their customers.

Shaun previously owned a Jim's Carpet Cleaning business and also served in the Australian Defence Force, bringing discipline, commitment and attention to detail to every pool they maintain.

One of Shaun's favourite parts of the job is working outdoors in the Sunshine Coast sunshine... preferably wearing his trusty Crocs! 😄🐊

One of their more memorable service calls involved discovering crabs in a swimming pool! 🦀 It just goes to show you never quite know what you'll find on the next visit.

Their biggest piece of advice?

💧 If you're unsure... hire a professional.

Outside of work, family comes first. Shaun and Neish love spending time with their two daughters, heading to the beach and making the most of the relaxed Eumundi lifestyle. Italy tops their travel wish list, while Shaun's perfect meal is a steak and a b**r and Neish is happiest with a great bowl of pasta.

They're proud to be part of the Eumundi community and look forward to helping more local families enjoy healthy, sparkling pools.

💦 Meet Luke... From the Hinterland to the Coast

Some people like routine - Luke prefers variety.

One day he's servicing pools surrounded by the rolling green hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The next, he's by the coast helping families around Kawana enjoy crystal clear water. It's one of the things he loves most about the job... no two days, or pools, are ever quite the same.

Before joining Jim's Pool Care in late 2025, Luke built and successfully sold his own cleaning business in Brisbane. That experience taught him the value of great customer service, hard work and attention to detail... qualities he now brings to every pool he looks after.

For Luke, the best part of the job is that there's always something new to learn.

"Every pool is different, so every day is another opportunity to build my knowledge and solve a new challenge."

One lesson he enjoys sharing with customers is that a crystal-clear pool isn't always a safe pool! Regular water testing is essential to make sure your water is properly balanced and sanitised, not just looking good.

Outside of work, you'll usually find Luke keeping active, spending time at the beach or enjoying quality time with family. His dream trip is Japan, although he'd never say no to a slice of lemon meringue pie either! 🍋🥧

As for the strangest thing he's found while working? A picture frame... sitting at the bottom of a green pool during a restoration. Safe to say, every pool has a story!

Luke is proud to look after both the Hinterland and Kawana communities, and loves that his role lets him experience the best of both worlds... from rainforest surrounds to coastal living.

💦 WHO'S LOOKING AFTER YOUR POOL IN BLI BLI? 💦
Meet Rob... one of the friendly locals behind Jim's Pool Care Bli Bli. 😊

After spending 15 years managing public health projects, Rob decided it was time for a career that got him out from behind a desk and into the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

Now, there's nothing he enjoys more than leaving a customer's pool looking crystal clear and hearing how happy they are with the result.

Of course, not every day goes to plan...

🐍 A brown snake in a skimmer basket.
🤸 A trampoline floating in a pool.

Safe to say... no two days are ever the same!

Rob's biggest pool tip is one that's easy to overlook...

💦 Keep your water level up. Your pool equipment can't do its job if the water drops too low.

When he's not working (or as he'd say... "enjoying not working!" 😄), you'll usually find him enjoying fresh seafood, relaxing with a Scotch or planning his next trip to New Zealand to spend time with family.

One of the things Rob appreciates most about Bli Bli isn't the scenery... it's the people.

"Everyone just seems genuinely happy to live here."

We think that's pretty spot on.
