Building climate resilience across the Pacific ๐ŸŒ

Hall CEO Cameron Hall joined industry and development leaders today for a panel discussion climate-resilient infrastructure in the Pacific, held as part of Pre-COP.

The discussion explored the challenges of delivering climate-resilient infrastructure across the region, the keys to successful project delivery and the importance of collaboration in helping vulnerable nations adapt to the impacts of climate change.

With extensive experience delivering complex infrastructure in some of the Pacific's most remote environments, we're proud to contribute to these important conversations and share insights into how practical infrastructure solutions can help build a more resilient future for the region.

As global leaders come together for pre-COP climate talks, we're shining a spotlight on the important climate adaptation work underway in Tuvalu.

Through land reclamation and coastal protection works, the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project - TCAP is helping protect vulnerable coastlines, communities and critical infrastructure from sea-level rise, coastal erosion, storm surges and flooding.

With two phases complete and a third underway, our team is constructing more than 20 hectares of safe, elevated land, protecting more than 1km of vulnerable shoreline and increasing the usable land area of Funafuti by more than 10%.

We're proud to play a role in this important project, demonstrating how climate adaptation infrastructure can help build resilience and safeguard communities on the frontline of climate change.

Delivering major infrastructure in some of the Pacificโ€™s most remote locations takes more than construction expertise โ€“ it takes serious logistical capability.

For the MICRO II project in Tuvalu, Hall moved more than 150,000 items of general cargo across two trips, chartering a ship from Brisbane to Funafuti and using various barges and ancillary vessels to ferry equipment and materials onwards to Nanumaga and Nanumea ๐Ÿšข

Transporting everything ashore presented another challenge, with our team undertaking complex reef landings at both outer islands.

These efforts have laid the groundwork for Hall to construct new climate-resilient harbour facilities on Nanumaga and Nanumea, including wharves, boat ramps, sea access channels, berth pockets, navigation aids, passenger terminal buildings and cargo sheds.

Take a look behind the scenes at the logistics involved ๐Ÿ‘‡

Following 16 months of construction, Hall is proud to have successfully completed the 1.81 km Ebeye seawall in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

The new seawall provides an important line of defence for the densely populated island, helping protect homes, roads and critical infrastructure from coastal erosion, inundation and the increasing impacts of climate change.

The project also included construction of a 1.81 km footpath along the back of the seawall, providing a new public amenity for the Ebeye community.

Delivering the project was a major logistical undertaking, with around 84,000 tonnes of armour rock and fill transported to the remote island, along with significant plant, equipment and construction materials.

It was also very much a team effort. At the projectโ€™s peak, around 35 Marshallese team members worked alongside Hallโ€™s expatriate workforce, building local skills and contributing to the delivery of this important piece of infrastructure.

It was fantastic to come together with the Ebeye community and project stakeholders recently for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the seawallโ€™s completion, attended by Her Excellency President Hilda Heine.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this important project to life and helping strengthen Ebeyeโ€™s resilience for years to come. ๐Ÿ‘

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to have successfully constructed a 1.81 km seawall in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

The new seawall will help protect the Ebeye community including homes and critical infrastructure from rising sea levels, coastal erosion and wave overtopping.

A huge congratulations to everyone who played a part in bringing this important coastal protection project to life ๐Ÿ‘

The Sunshine Coast Churches Soccer Association All Abilities Superstars are proof of just how powerful community sport can be.

The inclusive soccer program has welcomed players with diverse needs, including autistic children, vision-impaired children and players who use wheelchairs and walking frames โ€“ adapting the game so everyone has the opportunity to get involved.

Hall is proud to support the program, contributing jerseys and equipment for the 2026 season.

Thatโ€™s a wrap on the 2026 season for the Sunshine Coast Churches Soccer Associationโ€™s All Abilities Superstars!

The program gives children who face barriers to participating in mainstream sport the chance to get out on the field, have fun and experience what it means to be part of a team.

As a Sunshine Coast-based business, we believe itโ€™s important to support the community where many of our people live and work. This year, Hall was proud to contribute new jerseys and equipment for the Superstars โ€“ and judging by these smiles, theyโ€™ve certainly been put to good use!

A big congratulations to all the players on a fantastic season, and to coach Trevor, volunteer Steph and the families who make this special program possible each week. ๐Ÿ‘

Sometimes the hardest part of checking in with someone is knowing how to start the conversation.

With today marking R U OK? Day in Australia, weโ€™ve sent a sweet conversation starter to Hall team members across the country, encouraging them to take a break and check in with a workmate.

While today is an important reminder to ask the question, checking in with the people around us shouldnโ€™t be limited to one day of the year. Thatโ€™s also why we make free, confidential support available to our team year-round through Hallโ€™s global Employee Assistance Program.

Ask R U OK? Any day ๐Ÿ’›

One of our team members, Construction Manager Hannah, recently represented Hall at PIANC APAC 2026 in Brisbane, sharing insights from the Outer Island Maritime Infrastructure Project our team delivered.

Her presentation, โ€˜Field experience: Boat harbour construction and community engagement in Niutao, Tuvaluโ€™, explored the practical realities of delivering maritime infrastructure in a remote island community, with a focus on community engagement.

PIANC is the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure, and the biennial forum brings together port, harbour and maritime professionals from across the Asia-Pacific to exchange knowledge and ideas ๐ŸŒŠ

Well done, Hannah, on sharing Hallโ€™s experience and insights with industry peers!
