I don't get bindi's because they can't grow in my yard.

If you are getting bindi's growing in your yard, it's because your grass is too low and/or not thick enough. Only mow on the highest setting, mow less often and don't use a catcher. Or a better solution is to downsize your lawn and upsize your garden.
