Effective 1st September 2026 Strathfield Council’s new Residential DCP codes.

The General Residential DCP will replace the following sections of SCDCP 2005:

● Part A - Dwelling Houses & Ancillary Structures
● Part B - Dual Occupancy Development
● Part C - Multiple Unit Housing

The General Residential DCP covers the following development types:

● Dwelling Houses
● Secondary Dwellings
● Dual Occupancies
● Multi-Dwelling Housing
● Terraces
● Manor Homes

So the savings provision essentially protects DAs already in the system from having to be redesigned simply because the DCP changes on 1 September.

Where a DA is submitted before the new DCP takes effect, “the application will be assessed under the DCP rules that applied at the time it was lodged.”
