Come back to High School Tech Arts with Field Construct here as we renovate a 65 years timber framed building into a modern Cyclone coded build with fresh linings and claddings for a half life refurbishment. Now we have to fill this with children and teachers. Well done to David, Sam, Ben, Luke, Nathan and Team for reinvorgating Gordonvale SHS future.

This post is for my out of Town friends. The store has run out of fresh food. Hoping train container’s get through. The mall grocer has potatoes wet from the local paddock cause the farm ain’t dry right now. People were calm in store.

A junior position is available for an Apprentice Carpenter with Richard Field Constructions, a Cairns based commercial construction company servicing the Far North Queensland region.

Applicants must have a drivers license preferably manual and their own transport. Field Construct will arrange for the successful applicants’ apprenticeship formation.

Schools are proving remarkably sustainable with half life renovations. In Gordonvale we have stripped out the Wood & Metal shops to bare frames this week with a view of having them fitted out for the 2025 School year. Ths is a carpenters delight to be reworking something started in 1960.

As a kid we loved a good slide, turns out we still do 😁 Here are some Field Construct refurbished slides ready for the Spring Holidays. To carry out the works we took the slides apart and trucked them to Phoenix Finishes for a 20 years spray job bringing them back up like new. The job was especially rewarding to have our son Rob on study break site labouring with the crew to undo the bolts and carry the slides to the transport. Cheers to the site Dave, Brad, Jamie, Sean, Tammy, Andrew and Nathan.

We were really happy at Field Construct to come away with the Master Builders Awards win for Screen Queensland's new Cairns Movie Studios in the category Commercial Building $5m up to $15m. The evening provided superb dining, entertainment and excellent speeches. Congratulations to the team headed up with Rob, Robbie, Paul and Peter. A huge thankyou to Screen Queensland for the award.

We are super delighted to showcase our build for Screen Queensland Cairns Movie Studios as designed by CA Cox Architects with ARUP Engineering, Sequal Consultants, Gilboy Hydraulics and ME Group Mechanical. If you can get through the photos there are some amazing spaces to be sight of. A huge congratulations to the fantastic site team of RFC and trades.
