I don't usually post this kind of thing, but I just couldn't keep this adventure to myself.
🌿
After teaching in Ntaria I was lucky enough to spend a week travelling with my dear friend, Sarah, through the East and West Macdonnell Ranges, out to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. We took the van, slept in our swags, and just… drank in the landscape in this extraordinary part of the world.
🌿
I genuinely don't have the words for the colours and textures out there. Every place felt like a work of art.
🌿
I was also able to purchase a beautiful piece of art from Sharon Adamson @ , which feels like such a privilege to bring home.
🌿
We live in such an incredible country. And I really needed some time away from the bench to get a little dust on my boots and let the world remind me why I make things in the first place.

Part two of the workshop: Teaching/Learning about casting in solid silver to make pendants.
🌿✨
I travelled to Ntaria (Hermannsburg) with all the tools needed to show a sand casting technique. This is when you create a wax mould and pour molten silver into the sandcast to create a form.
🌿
I asked each participant to choose a motif that felt meaningful to them. Some beautiful animals and plants from their local area were carved in the wax and then cast in silver.
🌿
The results were so stunning! Watching this process develop with these women, who already have such a deep relationship with material and country, was something else entirely. It an amazing experience to work closely with this community and lean into one another’s worlds.

The Hermannsburg Potters are also fundraising right now for something really important: their current studio and gallery are deteriorating, and they're having to turn away both artists and visitors as a result. They're raising funds to build a brand new, fit-for-purpose art centre big enough to hold the dreams of their community. And right now, every dollar donated is being matched up to $20,000 by Creative Australia. So your contribution goes twice as far. 🙏

If you're able to give anything at all, please do

Just back from one of the most memorable trips, and I wanted to share a bit of this special time with you all.

and I headed to to teach a jewellery workshop with a group of women who are extraordinary potters, Marian did something similar out here 30 years ago. I'm so glad they wanted to do it again, and I'm so glad I got to come along.

This was part of a bigger project we're doing with and called Lean In. The exhibition is in September, and this is exactly what it's about: stepping into each other's worlds and learning from each other.

Thank you to all the Melbourne businesses who donated tools, and to the women of Hermannsburg who made us feel so welcome. Their pottery is something else, go look at hermannsburgpotters.com.au

Alice and I worked closely to refine a design that feels balanced and classic, with soft organic elements and personal details woven throughout.
🌿
I hand made this piece in 18-carat rose gold using 100% recycled and refined material. Organic claw settings hold the stones in place, and hand engraved ferns and leaf embellishments flank the settings.
🌿
The central sapphire was hand mined in Inverell NSW, and cut into this stunning 1.4ct cushion cut. It’s paired with two Australian Argyle champagne diamonds, creating the most beautiful and warm palette.
🌿
A really special one to make. Congratulations again, Alice & Aaron ♡

Although the ring was designed with Alice & Aaron together, Aaron worked with me behind the scenes in secret to add in two personal engravings on the inside the band. I hand carved a tree to mark the place of their proposal, while the other marks another significant place for them - moment made even more memorable by a whale breaching in the distance. How special!
🌿
We worked through all the details via video call and email, and landed on this stunning Austraian blue/green parti sapphire from Inverell NSW - a rare and increasingly scarce origin, as mining in the area has now ceased. It’s flanked between two Australian Argyle champagne diamonds.
🌿
It was a pleasure to bring this to life for you both.

One Tree, You & Me ♡
🌿
Aaron planned a surprise proposal for Alice, with a helicopter ride revealing “Marry Me” mown into the paddock below. He asked the question under a eucalyptus tree, a place that now holds a special memory for them both.
🌿
Afterwards, Alice got in touch with me, and I had the pleasure of working with her to create a ring that felt true to her style while also holding parts of their story and marking this time.
🌿
I made this piece in 18-carat rose gold using 100% recycled and refined material. The centre stone is a 1.4ct Australian parti sapphire, flanked by two Australian champagne diamonds.
🌿
Aaron wasn’t quite done with the surprises, and worked with me behind the scenes to add two hand-engraved details on the inside of the band, marking two places that are meaningful to them.
🌿
Congratulations, Alice & Aaron ♡

Andriy knew the style of sapphire that Hayley loved, so felt confident working in secret with me to create this special engagement ring for her.
🌿
The centre stone is a 2.995ct freeform Queensland parti sapphire, hand mined in the Gem fields. It showcases such beautiful green tones with flashes of teal, olive and soft yellow that shift as the stone catches the light.
🌿
The sapphire sits at a gentle angle, framed by an asymmetrical cluster of white diamonds using a mixture of organic claw and milgrain settings.
🌿
One of the diamonds in the piece is an heirloom stone from Andriy’s grandmother’s ring, a lovely sentimental addition.
🌿
I loved being part of this surprise and making this beauty. Congratulations Andriy & Hayley!

From the very first email Andriy sent me, it was clear how much he adores Hayley.
🌿
He spoke about her with so much adoration & pride, not only about the incredible work she does as a cardiac nurse, but about who she is as a person.
🌿
Andriy spent over four months researching jewellers before booking an appointment with me to discuss this ring, and ended up flying from Sydney to Melbourne for a one-day trip so we could meet in person and discuss the most important aspects of this piece.
🌿
He knew Hayley loved freeform sapphires in green/blue tones, so we started there. I ended up custom sourcing this 2.99ct sapphire from one of my trusted suppliers, as Andriy wanted something with a bit more presence.
🌿
It became the hero of the design and is a completely one-of-a-kind sapphire. The perfect stone for a person as wonderful and unique as Hayley.
🌿
I absolutely loved making this piece for you both. Congratulations!

You have my heart 💛
🌿
This was such a joy to create, and I’m so grateful to Andriy for trusting me with this special piece for Hayley.
🌿
The ring features a 2.99ct freeform Australian sapphire, hand-mined in the Gem fields of central Queensland. The sapphire was hand-cut to follow the natural shape of the rough sapphire, resulting in a stunning and unique freeform design.
🌿
I made this piece in 18-carat classic yellow gold, and used a mixed setting style for the gemstones, including my signature organic claws as well as some milgrain detailing.
🌿
The design also features an asymmetrical cluster of white round brilliant and pear-cut diamonds, along with a single heirloom diamond from Andriy’s grandmother’s ring.
🌿
Congratulations, Andriy & Hayley!

“You are my true love” 💚💜
🌿
JC came to me wanting to create something special for Moriah, and took the time to sit with each decision along the way. Every detail was considered, with the intention of creating a piece that felt representative of her, all while keeping it a complete surprise.
🌿
I hand carved this ring in recycled 18ct yellow gold, centring it around a bright green pear-cut sapphire from Tomahawk Creek Australia, paired with pink-purple sapphires for a soft, colourful contrast. Leaf and coral details wrap around the stones and flow through the claws and setting, tying everything together.
🌿
JC later proposed while they were travelling through the Philippines and Bali after Christmas 🤍 Congratulations!
