G'day everyone! Housecare Plumbing is back on another big project today. We’re taking on a full bathroom renovation, which includes completely renewing the whole cold water line for this house! We're upgrading the old, outdated galvanised pipes to modern PEX piping for better water flow, longevity, and clean water.

The Challenge:
Working under Australian sub-floors isn't easy! As you can see in the video, the sub-floor space under this house is super narrow and tight. Crawling under there to run the new cold water lines and connect all the bathroom fixtures takes serious skill and patience!

What we’re doing today:

✅ Upgrading old galvanised pipes to high-quality PEX lines

✅ Crawling under the narrow sub-floor to run new cold water connections

✅ Roughing-in new plumbing lines for a complete bathroom renovation

We were out at a local shop today to replace a leaking hot water valve under the counter. While on-site, we saw the cabinet needed extra support, so we disconnected the system, removed the old copper lines, and added heavy-duty timber frames to make the base completely solid again.

It’s all about doing the job properly. Along with the new auto shut-off valve, we installed a leak detection device to give the shop owners complete peace of mind. Fresh lines were brazed securely, and everything was pressure-tested and ready to go!

G'day! We were called out to a job today to deal with a slow-draining basin and an annoying little leak underneath.

The Problem:
Turns out, a buildup of hair, soap scum, and gunk inside the pipe was slowing down the drain and causing water to leak under the basin.

The Fix:
We cleared out the clog, cleaned out all the trapped debris, and reassembled the pipework nice and tight to stop the leak.

High pressure can cause leaks and damage your pipes over time. Today, Housecare Plumbing helped a customer lower their water pressure to a safe level:

❌ Before: Pressure sitting high at ~700 kPa

🛠️ Action: Installed a new Pressure Limiting Valve (PLV)
✅ After: Brought it right down to a safe < 500 kPa
