Tassie is the only place in Australia that requires a building surveyor and council to sign off on a solar array over 18 solar panels in size.

What does the consumer get for $1000 plus cost?
Absolutely nothing!

What does the installer get?

The chance to be forced to be the bad guy, extort money from clients and hand it over to people we’ve never met that have no actual role in the design, installation or liabilities that are part of delivering solar systems.

It’s a rort, money for jam, tick in the box steaming pile of s**t!

While we can hope and work for change I suspect there are too many people creaming it off the top to let this easy source of revenue go.

Just remember if you want an EV charger in Tassie, Tasnetworks will demand a tariff change to a TOU tariff if you are not already on one.

AB is on the case and trying to get some assistance from Tasnetworks to get information out to the electrical industry to ensure no confusion.

AB did suggest that the EWR form on the EV Charger question when answering YES, a drop-down box appears with a note regarding tariff changes.
