What does a cave look like as a 3D point cloud? 🪨

Our team used the Tersus MVP S1 to capture this cave in 3D while moving through its passages and uneven terrain.

The resulting point cloud can be explored in MVPStudio™, including a flythrough along the scan trajectory for a closer look at the captured environment.

Want to explore the data yourself?
We’re preparing a sample of this cave dataset to share publicly.

What would you most like to explore in the data?

From point clouds to practical forestry data. 🌲

With MVP S1, you can capture detailed 3D point clouds while moving through the field. In MVPStudio™, that data can support forestry workflows such as:

🌳 Tree counting
📏 DBH measurement
📐 Tree height extraction
📍 Tree location extraction

In this video, .wittenberg walks us through the workflow from SLAM data capture to forestry analysis—showing how point clouds can become useful information for forest inventory and timber cruising.

Thanks to Jacob and our U.S. partner team at for helping bring the demonstration to life.

What does “accuracy” really mean in handheld SLAM?

Geo Week News has published a guest perspective from our founder and CEO, Winston Wen, on one of the most common sources of confusion in SLAM specifications.

Relative accuracy, absolute accuracy, and point-cloud noise are different metrics—and they shouldn't be treated as the same thing.

The article breaks down what each means, what affects it in the field, and how to verify it.

More Tersus equipment heading into the field in El Salvador. 🇸🇻

Our local partner Rumbo GNSS has been supporting recent customer deliveries of the Tersus TS21 and LUKA, including hands-on setup and field testing on site.

Reliable technology matters, and so does having knowledgeable local support when it’s time to put that technology to work.

Thanks to the Rumbo GNSS team for supporting customers on the ground and for sharing these field moments with us!

One LiDAR. Three Ways to Map.

Meet the Tersus MVP100—a versatile LiDAR mapping system for UAV, vehicle-mounted, and handheld data capture.

Fly it for aerial mapping.
Mount it for high-efficiency mobile mapping.
Carry it for flexible field scanning.

With integrated LiDAR, camera, GNSS, and IMU, MVP100 delivers typical 3–5 cm absolute point cloud accuracy with PPK.

Powered by TAP™ PPP, it also supports a base-station-free mapping workflow, giving you more flexibility in areas where setting up a conventional base station is impractical.

For longer-range applications, MVP100 Plus offers detection ranges of up to 300 m with triple returns.

From terrain surveying and road construction to forestry, power line inspection and urban mapping — one system, more ways to capture.

Fly it. Mount it. Carry it.
