Nathaniel started with My Build Collective at just 16 years old and has grown from a quiet young apprentice into a confident, capable and highly respected tradesman.

The Reserve was designed and built around more than just a brief, it was about creating a home that felt deeply personal, grounded in its place, and connected to the landscape of Cataract Gorge.

Our client Natalie shared these words after handover:

Positioned on a sloping site overlooking Launceston’s Cataract Gorge, this home was designed and built with restraint, precision, and a strong connection to its landscape.

From the vertical black steel cladding and raw timber detailing to the elevated deck, custom joinery, and warm internal finishes, every element was carefully considered and crafted.

A home that quietly celebrates material honesty, thoughtful design, and the skill of the people who brought it together.

Flashback to four years ago when My Build Collective moved into our current office in South Launceston.

Since then, this space has become much more than an office, it’s where designs have taken shape, projects have been planned, clients have been welcomed, and plenty of ideas have started over a coffee.

We’re also excited to now have a new development taking shape out the back… with more to come on that soon.

Grateful for the people, projects, and conversations that have filled this space over the past four years.

In March, our team took part in a Team session and BBQ, focussing on mental health within the construction industry.

It was a valuable opportunity to come together, have an honest conversation, and be reminded of the importance of looking out for one another both on site and beyond.

In construction, the pressure can be real, and conversations around mental health matter. Sessions like this help create a stronger, more supportive team culture where people feel encouraged to speak up, check in, and ask for support when they need it. We’re all here for each other.

A big thank you to Tom Mullane-Grant and Team Stay Chatty for leading such an important session with our team.
