A small change that makes a huge difference. 🔨

Removed the old swinging laundry door, reframed the opening, and installed a cavity sliding door unit complete with a custom K-brace door.

Not only does it free up valuable floor space, but it also gives the area a much cleaner and more practical layout. It’s the little details that can completely transform how a home functions.

Another happy client and another job ticked off the list. 👌

Massive day today! 💪🏼

Removed the window on the left-hand side of the entrance, reframed it to code, and reinstalled it. Then it was back inside to smash out the plaster hanging, ready for the boys at to work their magic on the troweling Monday.

A huge amount of work has been knocked over in just 5 days. Tight timeline, but we’ve just got to get it done. 🤙🏽

Day 3 Complete 💪🏼

Another big day on the tools.

Walls are now straightened, and we made the call to tackle the lounge room wall as well after finding a significant twist that would have shown through in the finished product.

We also lifted the right-hand window 41mm to mirror the opposite side, only to uncover some interesting carpentry from previous builder 😅. Unfortunately, the other window has the same issue, so that’ll be coming out to be fixed properly too.

Could we keep going? Absolutely. But how long’s a piece of string? The more we uncover, the more we understand why things weren’t lining up.

Taking the time to do it right now means a better finish later.

Big couple of days so far. Onto Day 4. Let’s get it done 💪🏼🔨

Day 1 Progress 🔨

We could see there were issues with the finished product from the start, which is exactly why these rectification works are being carried out.

Once we stripped the walls, we uncovered a 40mm bow in one wall and a 25mm twist in the entrance. Unfortunately, it confirmed what we already suspected—there was no way to achieve the finish the clients deserved without taking it back and starting again.

The tough call was removing all the new fix and doors, but sometimes doing the job properly means undoing work that shouldn’t have been signed off in the first place.

Day 2 tomorrow: straightening walls, lifting windows, and getting this renovation back on track. 💪

Massive day of installs today! 🔨🚪

Another project completed and some very happy clients. Today we installed 2 beautiful Messmate barn doors along with 1 solid MDF barn door, and the results speak for themselves.
