Game 3 of the Bundaberg AFL9s had us up against the Green Machines..

Well in true Tuesday night spirit the wind didn't decide to back off, which made the feather weight ball do crazy things in the air tonight.

Well Done to Casey & Courtney for kicking a 9 pointer each you both had a cracker of a game. Stella nearly marked the ball a few times in the goal square (one could have been given a mark) it was a ripper of an effort. Alex well I think she went tricka treating before the game. Because she was a red hot defender.

Luke M I think stole some of Alex's lollies because he was just as great of a defender and goal kicker tonight, and for that he took out the BOG.

Despite running on the field after a day of cramps and shin splints. Shorty and Mitch both had a cracker of a game. Thanks Lads.

Carsy and Jamo both took some impressive marks to get the team a turnover. Although Jamo did miss one earlier in the game (Joel did kick it perfectly to him)

It was great to have the big man himself back this week. By gosh we needed the height and some extra 6 pointers.

Joel, well I don't even know where to start, if he wasn't running around like a mad man, he was getting marks, saving goals and I feel tonight was the first night I've heard him make so much noise. I think the distraction worked as the Bundy Mulch & Chip LUMBERJACKS got their first win for the competition.

Great Game Green Machines...

Game 2 of the Bundaberg AFL9s was an absolute cracker.
The siren silently blew and both teams were at it from the start.
Popsy come out for his first run well perhaps I should say for his first slide. It was also great to have the greatest backman of the league join us aswell for his first game.
We started off in the lead after a few minutes, but from then on it was goal for goal. Despite our men running around like mad and defending up a storm. Nothing could stop Nikita and Maylee kicking goals. Nikita's BOG was so well deserved.
As a spectator on the sideline I swear I was going to wake up with whip lash from watching the ball go from one end of the field to the other so quickly.
It's nice to see the ladies really getting the hang of it, but most importantly how well the Lumberjacks play as a team, and help each other out.
After a sweaty hard fought game and a bonus 12 points on the scoreboard to start, we couldn't come away with the Win.. great stuff Duelers..

Sandhills Sports Club Bundaberg AFL9s
Match Report for Game 6

This week had us taking on the Hot Dogz for a crossover match.

It was lovely to have a game without the wind blowing a gale. The Bundy Mulch & Chip Lumberjacks started off a little slow, but once we got a goal they just kept on coming.

Mackenzie and Demi took a few great marks and even had some great attempts at goals.

Jamo, Tree, Ando, Dylan & Max did a great job at moving the ball around in the middle to get it down to our full forwards.

Emma was great at trying to keep the Hot Dogz away from scoring.

Carsy and Joel I'm sure have been working on their goal kicking every afternoon this week.

And Piper played an amazing game which saw her take the Stormers Sports BOG award.

Game 5 of the Sandhills Sports Club Bundaberg AFL9s Competition.

The Bundy Mulch & Chip Lumberjacks took on the Steelers.

Mackenzie was strong in the back line and spoiled the ball several times despite waves repeat efforts, Tree was solid in the ruck and was strongly supported by Ando, who ran all night (Ando was also Stormers Sports Best on Ground).
Emma led well and marked well all game.
It was a great team effort all around from everyone but we were beaten by a good young team who capitalized on there opportunities despite our strong back line.

After a month of the Sandhills Sports Club Bundaberg AFL9s competition each team is beginning to find their own rhythm, and this week the BMC Lumberjacks hope to be in the groove against the Steelers.
Going into the game the Bundy Mulch & Chip Lumberjacks have a 2-2 record, and with some close games so far this season, the men and women in green are out to improve their position on the ladder.
Narrow losses to the Duelers and Code Hoppers have been balanced out by a one-point win against the Waves Magoos and a 72-36 victory over the Firehawks.
The Steelers are an unknown quantity, and with inspirational duo of Jamieson Webb and Demi Pressler-McHugh unavailable, the Lumberjacks will have to be at their best to get the win.
To see all the action in Round 5 of the Bundaberg AFL 9s competition get down to the Brothers Sports Club from 5.45pm, with the Lumberjacks taking on the Steelers at 6.45pm.

Game 4

Social vs Competitive..

Last night we took on the mighty Firehawks in a not so pleasant cool breeze. It was a great game and it was so nice to see everyone sharing the ball around and having fun.

Well Done to the Bundy Mulch & Chip Lumberjacks on the great win, and also to our Stormers Sports BOG Demi on kicking a 9 pointer or maybe 2. Perhaps you can teach Carsy on how to kick some for next week.

Looking forward to Game 5..

MATCH REPORT FOR

Game 3 V's Code Hoppers

Sandhills Sports Club Bundaberg AFL9s

Despite the chilly weather and our 6 point advantage we couldn't get the win over the 2021 Champs.

It honestly was a great game to watch, both teams showed amazing sportsmanship towards each other, alot of NON CONTACT spoils and turn overs. And a few 9 pointers which was great.

But really the highlight of my night was seeing Demi kick her first goal (go girl). And the Sponsor himself for kicking 2 goals. Way to go love lol

And to our gentlemen you are doing amazing with making sure our lovely ladies are involved in each game (even giving them pep talks on the sideline).

And to "G" well done on the 5 goals you kicked. You definitely earnt your Stormers Sports BOG voucher.

Look out for Game 4 The Bundy Mulch & Chip Lumberjacks will be back for redemption

Every weekend Brett Illingworth has plenty of properties open for inspection, but in Round 3 of the Bundaberg AFL9s he will have something more important on display.
The ability of his team, The Code Hoppers, will be put under the microscope and examined by the BMC Lumberjacks.
Brett’s team could be kept as busy as his auctioneer’s gavel as Lumberjacks’ young gun Max looks to continue his good form up forward, all the while the rest of the team are out to continue building their game in the fast-paced action of AFL 9s.
The local real estate star may shine when it comes to negotiating a great deal for sellers and buyers alike, and The RealWay Bundaberg Code Hoppers record is as good as Brett’s sales are.
This Wednesday night however, the Bundy Mulch & Chip Lumberjacks will take to the field with confidence after a stunning win in Round 2, and the market is tight when it comes to selecting a winner in the game of the round.
Catch all the action between BMC Lumberjacks and Code Hoppers from 6.45pm, with the other games starting at 5.45pm at Brothers Bulldogs Afl Grounds
