Cost of things mmm, yep we all getting hammered at all angles . But our trades are going to be getting far more expensive.
Copper gas pipeworks have doubled in 3 years soon to be far more .
Cables even more especially now it’s copper but also the pvc insulation is made from 30% oil. So it will be more again soon. We have absorbed these costs but can’t anymore. Our wholesalers in Australia are only making maybe 5% -10%on many products and it’s getting worse .

The biggest gain has been refrigeration gases , Australia has a quota in consumption and once we exceed our consumption due to leaks from inferior installations, coils leaks and other issues, refrigeration gas has nearly tripled in costs .It will go even higher now we exceeded our international quota.

This isn’t just airconditioning , it will be on your cold foods and beverages all around the nation from refrigeration trucks, cold rooms and cabinets at your local coffee shop. These gases are getting extremely expensive due to our net 0 obligations and other factors. That’s why only use refrigeration techs to install and repair your equipment.
The industry is in a complete mess atm

Due to these cost factors on gases we only will be carrying the gas now for coverage of our own workmanship warranty,Which is extremely rare .
Sorry to the ones who reach out for a gas repair now on units we didn’t install , we can offer replacement of the unit due to the unforeseen issues and the cost of gas. Too many variables at this cost level to risk it.

This is the latest “trade wholesale” cost of 1 small 10 kg R410a gas 😵‍💫🤨( about the size of a bbq bottle), common gas on many domestic ac units
Large ducted systems might need 12 kg or more
R410A split systems just get ripped out now

Was $1020.00 for a fill
Plus bottle rental each month
Plus a license cost we pay each year to have the privilege to buy this gas even though we are cert 3 refrigeration techs with 35 years in the trade
So yep everyone will pay more for airconditioning and cold foods
It’s cheaper to buy a small Chinese split system than to pay to have one repaired and regassed depending on the issue
Once warranty is over it’s rip out time now on smaller systems

Cool change coming in tomorrow. 🥶
Not cold enough yet for those that like a few hrs of efficient reverse cycle inverter warmth 🔥
But it’s not too far away as well..

Did you know , modern reverse cycle inverter systems are 4-6 times more energy efficient over traditional electric heating for power in and heat energy out!!!

They are also 2.5-3 times more efficient than gas if you use gas still.
Cheaper to run than wood combustion stoves if you buy your wood still .

Plus the fact they are far safer to use in terms of fire hazard risk as it’s a compression refrigerant type heat over traditional heating.

Also , if your AC units have had a big workload over summer, they most likely have mouldy/ blocked coils inside and outside units and it will be terrible for the unit to be used as a heater as the coil will bake in the contaminates and also spread it through the air in heating mode more so than cooling. No good for your health
New or freshly serviced units cannot get mould growth inside the indoor unit over winter in heat mode.
Compressors also have more load on them in heating mode so it’s important to have them serviced for longevity.

So now is the perfect time to get them professionally serviced both indoor and outdoor units more so than spring/summer.
Autumn is the best time of year to get this type of work done .

You will be ready for the cool weather and sorted out for the next summer. We are still busy but now is the time to get this done before the cold weather comes in.

Your power bill will also benefit, we have done amperage input checks in on very blocked units and estimate that they can use 30-50% more power to “try” to perform as a new or freshly serviced machine , costing you $$$

So the cost of a service is easily recovered on this saving alone based on average yearly use , plus more performance and less likely for unit failures long term.

Something alittle different. Our customer requested something to suit their black sound proof media room. We installed a Mitsubishi black EF series system to blend in better. Job came up great , customer was very happy with the outcome.
If you are in need of a different coloured unit to suit your requirements, reach out and we will see what we can get including a company that can do wraps for machines if something special is required.

Following on from previous post on services, the circled coil was an outdoor unit we found totally blocked up. This new customer reached out to us to say the unit was icing up inside and not cooling on other heat waves days . Then other days it work ok. They had the inside unit “ deep cleaned “ by an unlicensed contractor for $110 a few weeks earlier .Sure the unit looked clean but due to their inexperience they didn’t understand the refrigeration process of ac systems. They ghosted this customer and finally said get a new machine.
We went and fixed it all up for under $200
Works a treat now
Be wary of the many unlicensed deep cleaning companies around.
They destroy internal parts with moisture and miss vital service requirements. Your warranty or possibly home insurance will not cover you for unlicensed works .

To all our regular and new customers. Between now and early Winter is the best time to get us in for your annual service. The positives of this doing it before winter instead of the traditional just before summer services are many…
✔️Many units are caked up and totally blocked with mould and contaminants in the coils, both inside and out from the high humidity summer.
Putting these into heat mode in winter will cook the gunk inside the coil making future maintenance harder and less effective.
✔️Heating this build up can spread it through the air in your home over winter. Yuk…
✔️we have seen units completely fail due to extra loads on them from blocked coils trying to perform properly , unlicensed contractors usually leave outside units alone causing compressor fails , fan decks fails, pcb shortouts etc . It’s not worth the saving on cheap unlicensed cleans .
✔️Avoid the delays in the rush upto summer or the huge amount of breakdowns over summer we see from lack of maintenance.
✔️Far more efficient on your power consumption, the cost of a service literally pays for itself over 12 months of power savings.( based average use )
✔️Your indoor unit will not cake up with mould over winter as it is not removing humidity inside coil ( stays dry )so cleaning it now it’s good to go for next summer
