🚜 42 CUBIC METRES OF CONCRETE… AND ONE VERY EARLY START! 💪

What a transformation at Lillydale Lake!

From the first bucket of dirt to a beautifully finished concrete slab, the new Multi-Sport Court Play Area is really taking shape!

⏰ 5:30am start for the Scratchin the Surface team, getting everything ready for the big pour.

💪 42 cubic metres of concrete, pumped, screeded and finished - and just look at that result!

And we have to say… we’re still loving those curves! 👌

Next up, the concrete will be cut on Monday, followed by a 28-day curing period before the acrylic sports coating is applied.

There’s a lot of work that goes into creating a quality sporting surface, and it’s pretty satisfying seeing all that preparation come together.

Making way for something new at Lillydale Lake! 👏

Scratchin the Surface is on site today, carrying out the prep and excavation works for the new Multi-Sport Court Play Area.

There’s something pretty satisfying about watching a project take shape from the ground up — and we’re loving that curved finish already! 👌

Once complete, the new space will provide opportunities for basketball, netball shooting and small ball games.

Another great local project we’re proud to have a hand in. 🚜

Russ and the crew from Scratchin the Surface are currently hard at work creating a brand-new space for the mountain bike shuttle bus to operate 🚵‍♂️

This one’s still very much a work in progress, but already taking shape with:
🪨 Solid rock retaining walls going in
🚧 New fencing coming together
🛤️ An access ramp & pathway being built for safe, easy flow

Plenty more to come, but it’s great to see it all starting to come together 🙌

🚧 Big things happening at Wandin Cricket Club! 🏏

The crew from Scratchin the Surface were on site today preparing the slab for the club’s brand-new 3-lane practice nets. It’s great to be part of another local project helping build better facilities for the community and the next generation of cricketers.

We love supporting local clubs and getting the groundwork right from the start , because strong prep makes everything that follows even better.

Good luck to Wandin cricket club with the new nets… we can’t wait to see them in action!

WORKS COMPLETE / IN PROGRESS – Yarra Junction 👷‍♂️

Scratchin the Surface has recently been working at the Yarra Junction Skate Park precinct, engaged by Yarra Ranges Council to widen sections of the shared pathway to improve accessibility for the whole community.

To achieve this, our team removed, replaced and extended the existing retaining wall, allowing the path to be safely widened while maintaining long-term structural stability. Preparations have also been completed to support additional planting and landscaping within the area.

Projects like this help create safer, more accessible shared spaces for walkers, families, prams, mobility users and cyclists.

Proud to be a local contractor supporting improvements to community infrastructure across the Yarra Ranges.

This project focuses on improving shared path accessibility and long-term site stability. Thanks to everyone for your patience while works were carried out safely.

💛 Hair with Heart, We’re Proud of Steve 💛

One of our own team members, Steve, is taking part in the Hair with Heart Challenge, raising funds to support kids who need it most through Variety, The Children’s Charity.
