Australia's h**p industry has enormous potential to create regional jobs, diversify farm incomes and support sovereign manufacturing.
The Senate inquiry into the h**p industry I initiated has now reported, with recommendations to reduce red tape, improve national consistency and help the industry grow.
After hearing from growers, processors and manufacturers across Tasmania and Australia, the message was clear: h**p isn't the future, it's already here.
The challenge now is removing unnecessary barriers so the industry can expand, invest and create jobs. The Senate inquiry report provides a roadmap to make that happen.
It's time to unlock the full potential of h**p for Tasmania and Australia.
