MEET THE TEAM | The Moffett Forklift 🚜

You’ve met some of the humans, the Volvo and the tipper, now meet another hardworking member of the HVBP team.

The Moffett hitches a ride on the back of the Volvo and gets to work once we arrive on site, unloading pallets of bricks, pavers, retaining wall blocks and other materials and getting them closer to where you need them.

Favourite part of the job?
Getting off the truck and doing the heavy lifting.

Biggest pet hate?
Soft, boggy ground. Safe access and suitable ground conditions are important when organising your delivery.

Relationship with the Volvo?
They’re a package deal. The Volvo handles the road, the Moffett handles the unloading when they arrive. đŸ€

Three words?

Freshen up the garden beds, top up the mulch, sort out the paths or finally tackle that landscaping job that’s been sitting on the list all winter.

A JOB WITH A BIT OF HISTORY ❀

Recently, our tipper and driver & Volvo and moffett forklift with driver were called in to help with rubbish removal from a local Scone business site, transporting loads from the property to the Scone waste facility. With over 50 tonnes of scrap steel dropped off for recycling.

But this one felt like much more than just another clean-up job.

The Arnold family (the old BP service station site on Kelly Street, Scone) has been part of the Scone community for many years, and with the property now being prepared for sale, it really felt like the end of an era.

While we were working, we had quite a few locals stop for a chat. People shared stories, memories and little pieces of history about the business and the Arnold family. It was lovely to hear just how many people had a connection to the place over the years.

It was a reminder that behind some of the buildings and businesses we drive past every day are decades of local history, families and memories.

We were glad Hunter Valley Bricks & Pavers could lend a hand with the clean-up and be a small part of this next chapter. Share your stories

The yard has had another little upgrade. đŸ§±

We had the Brickworks reps back yesterday, along with possibly the cutest site supervisor we’ve ever had đŸ¶, putting together even more new brick and paver displays.

The yard is looking better than ever, with so many more colours, textures and finishes for you to see, feel and compare in person before making a decision for your project.

Come in, have a wander through the new displays and see what catches your eye.
