KlipTread™ is officially launching into the Australian rail market!

Originally developed in New Zealand, the patented clip-on walkway system is designed to retrofit to existing I-beam rail bridges without drilling, welding, scaffolding or hot works.

This installation timelapse shows how the system can be installed from above the structure, offering a faster and less disruptive alternative to traditional custom engineered walkway systems.

Built using standard Ezibilt™ components with no modification required to the core ramp system, the Beenleigh Special School project sets a new benchmark for the scale and capability of pre-engineered modular ramp systems.

“With 130sqm of ramp structure delivered from 100% standard Ezibilt™ components, this project proves that modular does not mean limited,” Regional Projects Manager Nick Lester added.

A quick look behind the scenes at one of our past KlipTread™ installations on the Midland Line’s Bridge 16 to see how it is performing and review the next stage of walkway additions.

It is always valuable getting back out to completed projects, especially when they show how our systems work in real conditions over time.

This bridge also has a site-specific detail worth noting. The KlipTread™ arms are helping support a wind shelter, so an additional bottom clamp was added to provide extra support.

It is a simple example of what we mean by Better By Design™. A modular system that is engineered, practical and able to adapt when the site calls for it.

Construction language can get confusing. Words like prefab, modular, pre-engineered and kitset are often used to describe smarter ways of designing and delivering projects, but they do not always mean the same thing to everyone.

Standards Australia’s new SA HB 268:2026 glossary is helping create a clearer shared understanding across the industry.

At Moddex, we welcome this step forward. Clearer language helps project teams better understand what they are specifying, buying and installing.

1km+ of modular handrail and balustrade systems installed across six fire stairwells at the Auckland Airport Transport Hub ✈️

Our NZ team recently stopped in to grab a few photos of the past project while passing through Auckland Airport on the way to the South Island.

Delivered for main contractor Icon, the project used AR150 wall-mounted handrails and CB40 balustrade systems throughout the internal fire stair cores of the new four-storey transport facility.
