A Difficult Day for the Wide Bay Community
Like many across the Fraser Coast, we were deeply saddened to learn of the Fraser Coast Hospice Board's decision to enter voluntary administration.
CQ Soil Testing has proudly sponsored the Hospice Ball for the past two years and had committed to supporting this year's event as well.
Through that involvement, we've seen firsthand the incredible dedication of the staff, volunteers, supporters, and donors who have worked tirelessly to provide compassionate care and comfort to local families during some of life's most difficult moments.
The Fraser Coast Hospice Association Inc. is far more than a healthcare service. It has been a place of dignity, compassion, and support for countless people across our region. The thought of losing such an important community asset is heartbreaking.
Our thoughts are with the patients, families, staff, volunteers, and everyone who has contributed to the Hospice's mission over the years. We also recognise that the Hospice has been facing significant challenges and that many people have been working hard to find a sustainable path forward.
The overwhelming response from the community in recent days is a testament to how valued and needed this service is. It is clear that the Fraser Coast Hospice holds a special place in the hearts of so many people and families throughout our region.
While the future remains uncertain, we remain hopeful that a solution can be found. Whether through government support, philanthropy, corporate partnerships, community advocacy, or a combination of these efforts, we sincerely hope a pathway emerges that allows this vital service to continue supporting those who need it most.
To everyone affected by this announcement, please know that you have our support, our respect, and our gratitude for everything you have done for our community.

We understand this news will be deeply upsetting for many in our community and thank our staff, volunteers, supporters, patients, and families for their compassion and understanding during this difficult time.
