Then wait over a week for the moister levels to drop enough to apply the protective coatings

Well this job was abit of a learning curve for myself. Last paint job was in 1970’s and lasted less then 10years. so the chamfer boards have been exposed and extremely weathered for a few decades now.
With how bad it was there was a lot of prep work involved stripping back the boards to a solid surface, even though most of the paint fell off anyways the boards where so grainy.
With it stripped back we then applied two oilbased undercoated filled and gapped all nail holes and gapped all the boards to get that nice clean look, some boards still needed to be filled with exteior timber filler to get a more clean finish rather then cracks through the boards
