DID YOU KNOW WE DO JOINERY TOO?

We may be masters of what happens between two floors, but our craftsmanship doesn’t stop at the staircase.

From beautifully considered cabinetry to custom joinery throughout your home, we create pieces that are designed around your space, your needs and the way you live.

Because every detail matters, from the stairs you walk to the joinery you use every day.

Thinking about custom joinery for your home? Let’s talk.

As we move into summer 2026, we’re seeing staircase design become more architectural, tactile and individual.

At Between 2 Floors, we love taking inspiration from global design and translating it into bespoke staircases for Australian homes.

The result isn’t about following a trend for the sake of it. It’s about selecting the right materials, details and proportions to create something that feels right for the space.

Every part of a staircase can influence the final design. Even the bolts.

Whether you want them to blend seamlessly into the overall look or become a considered detail of their own, the smallest choices can have a lasting impact on the character of a home.

At Between 2 Floors, we think about every element, from the structure through to the finishing details, so the final result feels intentional from every angle.

Because when it comes to bespoke craftsmanship, no detail is too small.

A considered balance of smoked glass and rich timber, bringing depth, warmth and understated luxury to the staircase.

The transparency of the glass allows the timber to remain the hero, while the darker tones add contrast and a more sculptural presence.

A refined combination of materials, thoughtfully crafted to make the staircase feel like an intentional part of the architecture, not simply a way Between Two Floors.

A staircase doesn’t have to sit quietly in the background.

With the right proportions, materials and detailing, it can become a defining feature of the home, creating a strong visual moment while still feeling completely connected to the architecture around it.

Think sculptural form, beautiful timber, stone, metalwork, glass or unexpected detailing.

The most successful staircases balance function with presence, becoming part of the overall story of the space rather than an afterthought.

Before the finished staircase becomes a feature of the home, there’s a process of precision, careful construction and considered detail behind it.

From the structure through to the timber, finishes and finer details, every element is carefully crafted to create something that feels distinctive, refined and built to last.

The details you don't notice are often the details that matter most.

From the profile of the handrail and precision of the nosing to the treatment of the stringer and the junctions between timber, steel and surrounding finishes, every element contributes to the final staircase.

It is the precision behind what looks effortless, creating staircases that are as considered in their construction as they are in their design.

Warm timber brings depth and softness to the Wedgetail staircase, balanced by the clean transparency of glass.

The result is a staircase that feels light, refined and naturally connected to the home around it.

Every element has been considered to complement the architecture, from the warmth of the timber to the crispness of the glass.
