What a fantastic night for DSL Construction!

We are incredibly proud to announce that we took home two major awards at the 2026 Master Builders Association of NSW Western Regions Excellence in Building Awards!

Skillset Head Office Refurbishment

To be recognised as Commercial Builder of the Year is an incredible honour and one of the highest accolades we can receive in our industry. To say we are proud, excited and still a little shocked would be an understatement!

The Skillset Head Office Refurbishment was a particularly rewarding project for our team, and to have the quality of the restoration and workmanship recognised makes this achievement even more special.

Unfortunately, Skye and I were unable to attend the awards on Friday night as we are currently away on holidays, but we couldn’t be prouder to see Clinton, Dave and Wes there representing DSL Construction and bringing home two fantastic awards! 👏🏆

These awards are a reflection of the hard work, professionalism, commitment and craftsmanship of our entire team, along with the support of our clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients.

🚨 Project Feature | Yetholme RFS Brigade Station 🚨

Completed in 2024, this purpose-built facility for the Yetholme Rural Fire Service Brigade, delivered for NSW Public Works, provides a modern, durable and highly functional base to support local volunteer firefighting operations.

Designed and constructed as a Category 2A facility, the project included:

🔹 New steel-framed engine bay and multipurpose building
🔹 Engineered concrete slabs with insulated Colorbond cladding
🔹 BAL-rated roofing systems for enhanced bushfire resilience

The station features:
✅ Two engine bays
✅ Multipurpose room with kitchen facilities
✅ Change rooms, toilets & showers
✅ Accessible amenities
✅ Laundry and secure storage areas
✅ Fully compliant building services throughout

External works included:
✅ Concrete pavements
✅ Water storage tank & septic system
✅ Fire hose drying rack
✅ Stormwater infrastructure
✅ Full vermin-proofing to the structure

This new facility strengthens operational readiness for the Yetholme Brigade, ensuring they are better equipped to protect the local community when it matters most.

Project Feature | Charles Sturt University, Bathurst

DSL Construction is proud to showcase the successful completion of the Building 1294 (Dobbin Building) Level 2 Refurbishment at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst.

Delivered in 2024 as a $2.2M lump sum project, this major refurbishment and services upgrade has transformed the Dobbin Building into a modern, high-performance workplace, delivered within a live university environment.

Project Highlights:
✔️ Refurbishment of the main foyer, enhancing the building’s arrival experience and identity
✔️ Full redevelopment of Level 2 with new private offices, meeting rooms, and collaborative open-plan workspaces
✔️ Upgraded staff amenities to improve comfort and usability
✔️ Whole-of-building mechanical services replacement to boost efficiency and environmental performance
✔️ Comprehensive fire compliance upgrades
✔️ Electrical infrastructure upgrade to support current and future demands

Working within an operational campus required careful staging, strong stakeholder coordination, and a proactive approach to minimising disruption, an outcome our team is proud to have delivered successfully.
