Has anyone stayed in their home during a major extension? 🤔đźŹ
Well, if you’re planning a home extension, one of the first big questions is this👇
DO YOU STAY IN THE HOUSE DURING CONSTRUCTION, OR MOVE OUT FOR A WHILE?
Moving out can add extra costs for rent, storage, travel, and temporary accommodation. Staying home can save money, but of course, you also have to deal with dust, noise, limited access to parts of the house, and changes to your daily routine.
And if you have kids, pets, work-from-home setups, or busy family schedules, it becomes an even bigger decision. 🤯
If you’ve lived through a home extension, we’d love to hear your experience:
âś” Did you stay in the house or move out?
âś” What was the hardest part?
âś” Did staying home save enough money to make it worth it?
âś” How did you manage dust, noise, and daily routines?
âś” Would you do it the same way again?
Our builders at RFT Solutions have worked with homeowners who stayed home during an extension and others who moved out during the messier stages.
The right choice really depends on the scope of work, your family’s needs, and how much of the home stays usable during the build.
