Sharing architecture to inspire: Perched above the Patagonian forest, Casa El Trébol by architects turns the journey through the trees into an architecture of views, stillness, and connection.

The design transforms the natural ascent through the forest into a journey toward the views, using architecture to frame and connect with the landscape.

A central transparent hall acts as a lookout and divides the house into two wings: a private bedroom area and an open public space combining kitchen, living and dining. Large glass panels create a seamless connection between the interior, forest and surrounding landscape.

The house’s strong horizontal form combines Laurel timber, concrete, stone and warm wood interiors. A separate 35 m² studio is embedded into the rock and cantilevers over the slope, offering a secluded space with elevated views over the forest canopy.

Architecture to inspire. House on Sag Harbor by is a study in restraint: a quietly commanding home for an acclaimed American ceramicist, carefully sited and pared back to let the landscape take the lead.

From the outset, the home was set roughly 60 metres back from the shoreline, almost three times the minimum required. It’s a decision that puts ecology, space and long-term resilience ahead of simply getting closer to the water. It also looks ahead to tougher coastal conditions and rising sea levels.

Internally, the home is organised around two perpendicular wings, creating an L-shaped plan that keeps social spaces distinct while making the whole house easy to move through. Expanses of glass pull in light and landscape, while a 12-metre living room opening disappears completely, letting the breeze, bay and outdoors straight in.

How will House on Sag Harbor read 100 years from now? The ambition is simple: a home that lasts, emotionally engaging, adaptable in how it separates public and private life, and resilient enough to stand the test of time.
