Matisse Mediums ⭐

Matisse MM33 UV* Conservation Varnish produces a hard, non-yellowing, UV protected coating. It will slow the rate of fading of printed material as it reduces UV light spectrum by more than 99%.

UV Conservation Varnish can be applied over Oils, Alkyds, Acrylics and printed surfaces. It is highly recommended a test piece should always be done when applying over a non-Matisse product and especially on printed surfaces.

*the term UV refers to Ultra Violet radiation present in artificial and natural sources such as sunlight and often manifests itself as discoloration or fading, cracking, and, sometimes, total product disintegration if cracking has proceeded sufficiently.

We’ve been busy creating some new banners telling the story of Derivan, along with our new Matisse Mediums boards to help you discover what each medium can do.

They’re now up and on display at The Sydney Art Store, so if you’re in the area, come have a look!

MM32 Light Modelling Paste is a very light product in terms of weight and can be used in large quantities that will not cause canvas to stretch or sag. Straight from the container, Light Modelling Paste is a frothy, grainy compound that can be applied with either a firm-bristled brush or palette knife.

Ways you can use Light Modelling Paste, once dry, you can paint directly onto the surface with any of the Derivan or Matisse acrylic paints, creating a colourful, textured surface. You can also mix paint directly into this product. MM32 allows for free intermixing with Matisse colours in any proportion.

Ready to experiment with texture? Try Light Modelling Paste and see where it takes your next artwork. ✨

Struggling with acrylic paint drying too quickly?

MM31 Open Medium is a game-changer for artists who want more time to blend and work their paint.

Mixed with Matisse Structure Acrylics, it helps retain that beautiful impasto quality. With Matisse Flow Acrylics, it keeps the smooth, flowing feel while adding body without making the paint overly viscous.

More working time. Better blending. More freedom to paint.

Perfect for outdoor painting, hot-weather studio sessions and artists who love to blend acrylic colours directly on the canvas.
