I don’t get many opportunities to stand up in front of a room full of people and talk about the work we do, so this one was a bit different.
I was asked to present our Northcote project, completed for Murray Barker , at the Future Builders Conference for Master Builders Victoria .
The topic was something we’re really passionate about — the circular economy of renovating. Looking at what we already have, what can be reused, improved and adapted, rather than automatically knocking it down and starting again.
For this project, that approach allowed us to retain and improve the existing home while bringing the whole house up to a 7-star energy rating.
Definitely not something that comes naturally to me, but it was a great opportunity to talk through the project and the ideas behind it.
