🚀 Concept Termite & Pest Management — taking pest control to new heights! 🛸😂

Elon Musk, we see your new Tesla… and we’ve decided to upgrade our work ute! 😂

Who needs traffic on the way to a termite inspection when you can just fly over it? 🛻💨

Next stop: termites across Brisbane! 🐜🚀

Don’t worry, we’re still grounded when it comes to our termite inspections… most of the time! 🤣

📍 Proudly servicing Brisbane and South East Queensland.

A client called us recently and told us something that genuinely made us smile. 😄

He said he’d been unhappy with some of his recent experiences with pest control companies, so he decided to be a little “cheeky” and specifically searched for award-winning pest management companies.

That’s how he found us. 🏆

For us, recognition is great — but what matters most is why we do what we do.

We treat every home as if it were our own.

That means taking the time to properly investigate the problem, explain what we’ve found, recommend the right solution and carry out the work with care and attention to detail.

We don't believe quality pest management is simply about turning up, spraying and leaving.

It’s about professionalism, knowledge, workmanship and genuinely caring about the home we’re working in.

So when a new client tells us they chose Concept because they were specifically looking for an award-winning company, it means a lot.

Indicates a mature colony

29/09/2026

Termites can establish concealed pathways from their colony towards a building, gain access to the structure and continue feeding on timber where their activity may remain hidden.

To help explain this process, we created an AI-assisted animation showing how termites can potentially move from their colony towards a building through concealed areas.

🎬 The animation helps visualise the process.

🔎 The termite activity and damage shown in the inspection footage are based on real-world termite findings.

And this is the important part:

You don't always need to see termites to have a termite problem.

Termite activity can remain hidden within:

• Wall cavities
• Subfloor areas
• Timber framing
• Floor structures
• Building junctions and concealed areas

That's why a professional termite inspection is about more than simply looking for visible termites.

We look at the bigger picture:

➡️ How could termites access the building?
➡️ Where could they be travelling?
➡️ What areas could be concealing activity?
➡️ Is there evidence of current or previous termite activity?

Don't just look for termites. Understand how they could be getting in.

🐜 TERMITES OUT IN THE OPEN — BUILDING A HUGE MOUND NEST IN CAPALABA!

This is something you don't get to see every day.

While working in Capalaba, we came across a large, active termite mound with large numbers of termites exposed and actively working on the outside of the nest.

And this wasn't simply an old mound.

We were watching them building and maintaining their home in real time.

The termites observed were consistent with Nasutitermes spp, a group of mound-building termites found in Australia.

What made the sight particularly interesting was the number of termites exposed:

🐜 Worker termites were actively constructing and maintaining the mound.

🛡️ Soldier termites were positioned among them, guarding and protecting the workers.

Termites are normally highly secretive and tend to remain within protected, humid environments. Seeing this many termites exposed in the open is relatively uncommon, and favourable moisture and humidity conditions can help create an environment where they can remain active outside the protected areas of the colony.

It was like watching a tiny construction site — complete with its own security team! 😂

But there's an important message for Brisbane homeowners.

The termites you can see are easy to notice.

It's the termites you CAN'T see that can cause problems.

Finding a termite mound doesn't automatically mean your house has termites. But it is a good reminder that termites are active in the environment around Brisbane homes.

Termites can enter buildings through concealed areas and remain hidden in wall cavities, subfloors, soil and other protected locations.

That's why regular professional termite visual inspections are so important.

At Concept Termite & Pest Management, we use specialist equipment including Termatrac T3i, thermal imaging, moisture meters and borescopes, together with detailed visual inspection techniques.

📍 Termite inspections in Capalaba, Redlands, Cleveland, Brisbane Bayside, Mount Gravatt, Wynnum and surrounding Brisbane suburbs.

Found a termite mound? Seen termites around your property? Or can't remember the last time your home was inspected?

📞 Contact Concept Termite & Pest Management for a professional termite inspection.

Don't wait until the termites inside your house become the ones you can see.

Great to be involved with BASF Pest Control AU in showcasing the new High Pressure Device system.

As a company, we strive to be among the best in the industry and continually invest in the latest technology and equipment to provide the best possible service for our customers.

We’ve recently invested in the new High Pressure Device by Rega, designed for use with BASF's Termidor HE chemical. The device allows for hole spacings of up to 600mm, providing greater flexibility when carrying out termite treatments.

For us, this means neater treatments with fewer visible drill holes in the concrete slab, while also making it much easier to work around obstacles such as: hot water systems, water tanks, air-conditioning units and other structures around the perimeter of a property.

It’s another investment that allows us to improve the way we carry out termite treatments while maintaining the high standards we set for our customers.

A big thank you to Curt and the team at BASF for the opportunity to be involved and for their continued support.

Always investing. Always improving. Always focused on delivering the best for our customers.

🌱 SPRING IS HERE — AND THE TERMITES ARE GETTING READY

We may only be at the beginning of spring, but we're already seeing signs that termite reproductive development is underway.

This Schedorhinotermes sp. is a developing reproductive — not quite a fully developed alate yet.

You can see the developing wings and eyes, while this termite is still inside the colony.

That means the first termite dispersal flights of the season may not be far away.

When conditions are right, winged reproductives leave the colony, disperse, shed their wings and begin the process of establishing new colonies.

For homeowners, this is an important time of year to keep an eye out for:

🪽 Winged termites around windows and lights
🪽 Discarded wings
🪵 Termite workings around timber
🟤 Mud galleries
🏠 Signs of termite activity around the home

Seeing flying termites doesn't automatically mean you have termites in your house — but it shouldn't be ignored either.
