Quilpie's first hybrid modular home has certainly been a project to remember! 🏡

What started as truckloads of panels is now a home and we're incredibly proud to have been part of bringing this innovative project to life here in Outback Queensland.

To everyone who contributed along the way —our fantastic contractors HLA Electrical, Systematic Flooring and Al McNall Plumbing, the transport legends at TKH Haulage, Costello Carriers and Charleville Carriers, and our suppliers (special mention to the teams at MAAP House Mega Anchor Nutrien Ag Solutions Quilpie Quilpie Hardware & Tyre Service) — thank you. 🏡 Five weeks ago, this was nothing more than truckloads of panels and materials rolling into Quilpie.

Today, Queensland’s first MAAP hybrid modular home is ready for its owners to move in!🥂

It’s been an incredible journey to watch this home come together, proving what’s possible when innovation meets skilled construction.

“Are MAAP hybrid modular homes made from cold room panels?”

It’s one of the most common questions we get asked. So, we thought we’d explain exactly how it all comes together!

The wall panels are purpose-built by MAAP Manufacturing using AusSteel structural steel framing, insulation, insulated building wrap, premium external cladding, and magnesium oxide internal lining finished with a factory-applied Dulux two-pack paint system.

So where does the confusion come from?

Some components—including the ceiling panels, subframe (under floor) panels and DeltaTrim roof system—are insulated panel systems, so they can look similar to cold room panels. ❄️

The difference is that these products are specifically designed for residential construction, offering excellent thermal performance, structural integrity and fire-retardant properties.

Together, these components create a MAAP Hybrid Modular home that’s engineered for performance, quality and longevity! 🏠

💡 End of Week 3 💡

Week 3 of Queensland’s first MAAP Hybrid Modular Home was all about the finishing touches.

Electrical fit-off is now complete, while trims, flashings and final finishing works have seen this house rapidly transform into a finished home.

As we head into the final weeks, the team will move onto flooring, custom joinery installation, split system air conditioning, final fit-off and handover.

🏡 End of Week 2 🏡

It’s hard to believe this home was just truckloads of materials a fortnight ago.

We’re now into the final stretch, with ceilings being installed and custom joinery, fit-off, final flashings and flooring still to come before handover in the next couple of weeks.

What would traditionally take months is being achieved in weeks, showcasing how precision manufacturing and skilled local construction can dramatically reduce build times without compromising on quality.

🚛🏡 A BIG DAY FOR QLD HOUSING 🏡🚛

After months of planning, design, engineering and off-site manufacturing, our very first Hybrid Modular Home has officially landed in Quilpie!

This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home marks an exciting step forward in delivering high-quality housing solutions tailored for remote and regional Queensland.

Manufactured off-site and transported to Quilpie in modular panel form, this system combines the durability of a traditional build with the speed and efficiency of modular construction — helping reduce build times, minimise weather delays and improve quality control.

Over the coming weeks, our team will be assembling the home on-site, with the structure designed specifically for outback conditions and modern rural living.

A huge thank you to everyone involved so far — from our partners at MAAP House manufacturers and transport crews to our local contractors and suppliers helping bring this project to life.

We can’t wait to share the next stage of the build as this home starts taking shape! 👷‍♂️🔨
