Delighted to present more photos of our Adeney Street Yarraville Residential, an Inter-War Brick Cottage built in the 1940s, that transformed into a contemporary family home priorising connection to landscape, natural light and open spaces, for our clients with a young family.

This considered transformation enhances the original home whilst creating a more open, efficient and welcoming environment for contemporary family life.

Collaborating with Interior Designers .doherty and our fantastic clients , the design resolves around a simple timber-clad form that balances strong street presence with respectful connection to the existing brick dwelling, opening generously to the garden.

Material layering of timber, breeze block and concrete, unifies old and new, while refined planning supports both shared and private living.

We’re delighted with the cohesive design across Architecture, Interiors and Landscape.

Plico Design Studio is pleased to announce that Building Permit approval has been secured for our latest project, the Port Melbourne Medical Clinic.

The clinic will relocate from its existing premises to a purpose-designed facility on Bay Street upon completion later this year. The project involves the full fitout of a former commercial tenancy into a contemporary specialist medical clinic, tailored to support both practitioners and patients.

Construction is now underway, with the contractors TMC Projects and Vern Built leading delivery on site.

We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.

We’re excited to present our scale model of the Tarra Bulga Visitor Centre in Gippsland, our project with and the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation .

Collaborating with , Experience Designers ‘Aeroplane Workshop’, and Graphic Designers ‘Person Place Thing’, we’re evaluating the existing building and establishing how this may be adapted, to enhance the visitor and interpretation experience.

It’s unusual to prepare a scale model for clients, however given the diversity of project stakeholders, this best enabled to explore how the existing spaces work, for our team and stakeholders.

Plico Design Studio is currently working on several Urban Design projects, that we’re excited to share. Both are in early phase of development, requiring further consultation and development:

⚪️ Sports precinct strategy, Maryborough Victoria, incorporating respect for existing Heritage significance of the site, circulation strategy for public access, sporting grounds for Cricket, Netball, Basketball, Tennis and Swimming, and onsite car parking.

⚪️ Large adaptive reuse Masterplan in Sorell, Tasmania, incorporating respect for existing Heritage significance of the site, new worship spaces for the Anglican Diocese, and Commercial, Community, Hospitality and Residential development of the site which are balanced with large open space enhancement, and onsite car parking.

We’re looking forward to sharing more upcoming updates on these projects.

We are pleased to have recently completed the expansion of the @ banksiamedicalcentre in Geelong for our valued clients.

The project extends the original scallop-shaped 1980s building, with internal works focused on reconfiguring the reception area to create a clearer connection and improved flow into the new extension.

The delivery required careful coordination, balancing the budget specifics, flood protection requirements, multiple design changes, and construction works undertaken while ensuring the clinic remained fully operational.

Externally, a cladding system of cement sheet on battens provides a contemporary layer that complements the original brickwork of the clinic. Internally, a calm and durable palette of joinery, wall and ceiling colours, and vinyl flooring supports medical compliance while creating a welcoming environment for both patients and staff.

We’re thrilled with the results, and are proud of our contribution to Healthcare in Victoria.

is excited to share that we’ve received the Heritage Permit from the Tasmanian Heritage council for St Luke’s Anglican Church, in Richmond Tasmania.

We will be introducing new amenities and internal alterations including a proposed Narthex and kitchenette, to allow the original church to better serve its congregation. This will be achieved without destructive works to the original building fabric.

Designed by colonial Architect John Lee Archer, St Luke’s Anglican Church was built between 1834-1835 by convict labour, using locally sourced freestone. It is one of the oldest churches in Australia, largely intact from its original design.

Potential residential clients often ask if only does Heritage projects. Our quick response is no! Many of our projects falls into Heritage, whilst others include non-Heritage projects such as residential new builds, commercial, and public projects.

We emphasise Heritage, because a good part of Victoria is under a Heritage Overlay or has a heritage context. So, even a non-Heritage contemporary project could have heritage considerations.

We are currently working on contemporary residential builds in Albert Park, Edithvale, Dingly Village, Williamstown, and Templestowe Victoria. We look forward to sharing these with you.

In the meantime, here are some of our favourite non-Heritage residential projects, from our Archives:

⚪️ The Corso, Parkdale.
⚪️ Little Graham St, Albert Park
⚪️ Port Melbourne Residential
⚪️ Monash Avenue, Thornbury
