Queensland is set to permanently ban proposed carbon capture and storage projects in the Great Artesian Basin.

This move follows a decision by the state Environment Department last week, declaring Glencore's project “not suitable to proceed” due to potential risks to the precious groundwater resources in the Great Artesian Basin. It's a clear message: we won't gamble with our vital water supplies.

AgForce chief executive Michael Guerin said he welcomed Mr Miles’s decision but the Albanese government needed to follow his leadership with a similar ban across the entire basin. “The Great Artesian Basin can’t be saved by the Queensland Premier,’’ he said.

“It is a water resource that sits under three states and one territory and the federal government needs to … ban any similar proposal across the country.

“It is a matter of national environmental significance’’.

How good does this system installed by Wigg Plumbing located in Darwin look!?!

This system was installed at Dundee Beach.

Every litre of water from the toilet, shower, sink, basin & the laundry goes into the Ozzi Kleen & receives aeration treatment that breaks down the effluent.
Once treated, the clear, smell free water, nutrient rich water is pumped out into the surrounding garden areas, keeping lawns and gardens green and healthy.

As the Dundee Beach region is on tank water, it ensures that the most is made of our precious water resource, particularly during the dry season!

FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT!

Wastewater Service Technician/AGCO PORT LINCOLN
Lower Eyre/Port Lincoln Based would be preferred but open to any location on the Eyre Peninsula for the right person.

AGCO-Primary role is Servicing, maintenance and repair of Ozzikleen Wastewater treatment systems on the Eyre Peninsula (Nullarbor to Port Augusta) as well as various other tasks on occasion (deliveries, farm work, building)

Work vehicle, tools and phone provided, above award rates, all training and tickets provided at our cost, working away allowances included (overnight stays required on some service runs)

We are looking for someone responsible and respectful as we work on private and sometimes restricted access properties.
Drivers licence required, no previous experience required but basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, irrigation and good problem-solving skills are a bonus, mostly working unsupervised and occasionally in remote areas, good knowledge of the Eyre Peninsula regions would be beneficial.
