Headwall for Dam Overflow

We have been constructing a reinforced headwall to manage the overflow section of the dam this week.
A properly designed headwall plays a vital role in protecting the structure by:

• Directing Water Flow – ensuring controlled discharge from the overflow, reducing erosion and uncontrolled scouring downstream.
• Structural Support – stabilising the outlet and preventing collapse or undermining around the pipe or spillway section.
• Longevity & Safety – providing a durable barrier that extends the life of the dam infrastructure while protecting surrounding land and assets.

The headwall is being built using durable concrete and rockwork, finished to suit the site conditions and engineered for high water capacity during heavy rainfall. This ensures the dam complies with best practice standards while giving the client confidence in both safety and performance.
