Your air conditioner is a machine and like all machines it needs to be serviced, we do that, but we also deep clean the indoor and outdoor units by degreasing and pressure cleaning them. If your machine hasn't been cleaned in the last couple of years it will be harbouring mould and will be struggling to operate properly. The accumulation of dust and other organic matter that builds up on the fan and aluminium fins inside your unit prevents efficient heat transfer and air movement. Check for yourself, get a torch and have a look at the barrel fan behind the louvers, if the fins of the fan have a crusty build up on them they are not working efficiently.

The indoor unit on this air conditioner had the usual mould and
build up of crust on the fan blades, which the elderly owners
were glad to be rid of, but the outdoor unit was
sinking into the garden and filling up with soil, the bottom
had already started rusting out, so we lifted and levelled the slab, cleaned out the leaves and soil and opened up the drain, now
the unit sits high, dry and drains well.

We were called to inspect a noisy outdoor unit fan. After sorting that out the owners told me they had an air conditioner cleaned two weeks before, I checked it and said we could do a lot better!
I took a photo half way through the clean to show the Coolbreeze difference.

Have a look at the before and after photos of the fan barrel of the second unit, especially note the mould under the build up of dust. The owners were amazed at how much muck we removed.

This indoor unit was high on the wall so it was difficult for the owners to clean. Can you see the mould on the back of the flap and behind the coil? This is a problem in the Central Coast.
