🎬 Step inside this grand French Provincial estate, built by Manteena for a family that wanted formality and everyday living under one roof.

Curved openings run through the home, guiding movement from the elegant lounge and dining rooms to the open-plan kitchen, living, and alfresco spaces at the rear. Intrim SK91 skirting is paired with custom curved SK91 architraves that follow each archway's radius, tying the billiards room, wet bar, and sunken firepit back to the same detailing.

American Walnut joinery threads warmth through the curved white skirting and architraves for additional depth.

Ever walked into a room that has beautiful furniture, a fresh paint job and great styling, yet still feels...unfinished?

The missing piece is almost always decorative mouldings. 🖼️

Skirting boards, architraves, and chair rails do more than frame a room. They create proportion, define transitions and give the eye somewhere to land. Without them, even the most carefully designed spaces feel flat.

Add the right mouldings, and suddenly the room feels grounded, balanced, and complete.

Which version would you rather present to your client?

In Maison Soleil's media room, Three Birds turned a chair rail on its side. 📐

Intrim CR190 usually runs horizontally, but here it's vertical, forming textured wall battens at roughly three-quarter height and finished with WB09 wall battens across the top.

At the base, an inverted SK498 skirting profile manages the transition between the battens and the main skirting, resolving a junction that would otherwise need a custom detail.

Proof that there's no right or wrong way to integrate mouldings into a space!

Save this for the next room that needs a custom look without a custom budget.

From moodboard to finished room at Three Birds Renovations' Maison Soleil. 🌿

Sage walls, terracotta linen, an olive awning stripe and rattan cane set the palette. Intrim WB09 battens then lay out the panel grid, with WB35 wall battens picking up the fluting on the bedroom door. SK945B skirting at 230mm and 135mm architraves finish the room.

Midimalism: the sweet spot between minimalism and maximalism 🏡

Not too bare. Not too busy.

While this trend usually gets attached to colour, textures and layered accessories, the real magic starts with the architectural details. Well-proportioned skirting boards, considered architraves, and subtle wall panelling create structure that allows a space to feel layered without becoming cluttered.

Which of your projects gets that balance just right?

🎬The walkthrough you've been waiting for. Step inside Maison Soleil ('Sunhouse' in French): the newest project from Three Birds Renovations

A barn-style garage door and rustic entry pergola announce the French Country brief before you're through the front door, continued indoors by Intrim SK945B skirting at 230mm and 135mm architraves. The result reworks a once-disconnected floor plan into a home built around how this family of five actually lives, room by room.

Shadowlines look amazing when they're done right.

But every builder, installer and plasterer knows the challenge: achieving a clean, consistent finish without cracking over time.

That's exactly why Luke from Versatile Construction was initially cautious about using Intrim's SK800 Shadowline skirting on the luxury Palm Cronulla development.

His biggest concern?

Cracking.

After installing SK800 across all 23 apartments, the verdict is in:
✅ Precision-machined consistency
✅ Faster, cleaner installation
✅ No cracking reported to date

If you're still relying on traditional shadowline installation methods, it might be time to see what's possible with a purpose-designed solution that delivers a clean, flush finish, even around curved walls.

That's why every skirting board in our In-Stock range over 135mm comes pre-scribed as standard, at no extra cost.

Instead of hand-scribing on site, our precision-machined pre-scribed profiles, helping you reduce installation time by up to 45%.

✅ Pre-scribed as standard on left hand side
✅ No additional cost
✅ Supplied in 5.4m lengths and primed ready to paint
✅ In-stock and ready to dispatch

Less time cutting. More time moving the project forward.

New to French interiors? Start with the architecture 🏛️

Long before the furniture, artwork and styling come in, French-inspired spaces rely on a handful of key moulding profiles to create their unmistakable sense of elegance.

✨Chair rails help divide a wall, creating balance and proportion.
✨Panel mouldings introduce depth and turn plain walls into architectural features.
✨Curved or fluted architraves soften transitions and add a refined finish.
✨Tall, decorative skirting boards bring presence and help anchor a room.

Layered together, these details create the foundation of a French interior that feels timeless and considered.

French girl style is having a moment, and it's not stopping at fashion. 👗

That effortless balance of elegance and ease is showing up in interiors too, with designers embracing the architectural details that define classic Parisian homes.

Think generous skirtings, decorative chair rails, curved architraves, a chair rail at hip height, all paired with tactile textures, contemporary art, and subtle contrast accents. Just like a perfectly tailored blazer elevates an outfit, mouldings bring structure, refinement, and style to a space without feeling overdone.

Are you seeing more Parisian influences in the projects you're working on?
