Special delivery for the Gump ducks!

Noel and the team recently went down south to Bunbury to drop off all the materials and supplies to get ready for the new duck pond build.

We can’t wait to show you what will be created from these materials for these lucky ducks 🦆

A pretty incredible transformation and journey at Jandakot 🙌

This was one of our biggest and most involved builds to date, with months of work turning the original site into the finished pond you see today.

Safe to say, seeing the final result makes all the hard work worth it!

Now that spring has sprung, it’s a great time to give your pond a quick check to get it ready for the months ahead:

💧 Check your water flow - Make sure pumps, waterfalls and streams are flowing as they should.

🌿 Tidy up your plants - Remove any dead foliage to make room for fresh spring growth.

🦠 Top up beneficial bacteria - As temperatures rise, beneficial bacteria help support water quality and keep your ecosystem balanced.

🐟 Keep an eye on your fish - They'll become more active as the water warms, so you can gradually increase feeding accordingly.

🍂 Remove excess debris - Clearing leaves and organic matter helps prevent excess nutrients building up in the water.

🎉 Project Jandakot is Now Complete 🎉

What started as a massive blank canvas back in March has been transformed into a fully functioning 25m x 15m x 2m ecosystem pond - complete with flowing streams and waterfalls, landscaping, feature rockwork, and plenty of spaces with the deck and concrete paths to sit back and enjoy it all.

Seeing the whole vision come together has been pretty special and we're incredibly proud of what we have built 💪

Now it's time to let the pond settle in and let the owners enjoy their new backyard oasis.

What a project. What a result. 👌

As the weather starts to warm up, it's completely normal to see a little algae appear in your pond.

That’s because as water temperatures begin to rise, algae wakes up faster than most pond plants. And any excess nutrients left sitting in the pond over winter become food for algae before your pond plants have a chance to use them.

That's why a maintenance clean now is so important. By removing built-up debris, cleaning your filtration system and reducing excess nutrients before spring arrives, you're setting your pond up for a healthier season 💪
