Geotechnical Investigation Project

J&S Drilling is proud to have successfully completed another geotechnical investigation project in the Pilbara for a valued client.
The project involved the drilling, installation, and commissioning of geotechnical and hydrogeological monitoring boreholes, including vibrating wire piezometers (VWPs), standpipe monitoring bores, and Standard Pe*******on Testing (SPT) to characterise subsurface ground conditions.
Despite challenging unconsolidated ground conditions, our highly experienced crews achieved outstanding core recovery and successful instrumentation installation through the careful selection of drilling methods, tooling, and drilling fluids.
Projects like these demonstrate J&S Drilling's ability to safely and efficiently deliver complex geotechnical investigations to the highest technical standards.

The competition highlights J&S Drilling's versatility.
James Carter has won the award for the second month in a row! He is on Rig 12, capturing the beautiful picturesque landscape of the Pilbara, and is the winner of our 2nd quarter photo competition 2026.
Leland Balandra on Rig 12 in the Pilbara also got the set-up against a beautiful blue sky backdrop.
