Last month, our Managing Director Phil Clarke joined the Construction in Australia panel at The Relocation Expo in Dublin.

Phil made the move from Ireland to WA more than a decade ago, started in a hands-on role on site and now leads the business. He shared what it takes to build a career in Australian construction.

After 20 years of Westforce Construction, if there is one thing we have learned, it’s that our crew knows how to show up when it is time to celebrate!

We put in the hard yards every single day on site, but we certainly match that work ethic with our passion for getting together and enjoying the moment. Coming together, sharing stories, and having a laugh with the team made it a fantastic night.

The Relocation Expo in Dublin is officially just a few days away! 🇮🇪 ✈️

Tommy O'Neill and Phil Clarke are heading over to Croke Park to represent the Westforce Construction team.

Having both made the move from Ireland to WA over a decade ago, Tommy and Phil started out in hands-on roles on site before building their careers here as our Operations Manager and Managing Director. They will be on hand at the expo to share their firsthand experience of making the transition, living in WA and working on our civil projects.

A memorable celebration calls for a memorable performance. An old friend of ours, Pete Foxe, certainly delivered at our 20th anniversary party!

Pete used to work for Westforce and penned a track that still echoes across mine sites throughout the Pilbara, 'I Want to be a Miner'. When planning the music for our 20th milestone, getting Pete on stage was a no-brainer.

Supported by the Irish duo The Broken Pokers, who helped get the party started and brought the night to life, Pete performed his classic track before debuting a brand new original, '20 years of Westforce'.

Looking out for our crew goes well beyond daily pre-starts.

To mark R U OK? Day, our site teams put down their tools for a dedicated session and BBQ. It’s no secret that working in civil construction and FIFO comes with high pressure. In Australia, construction workers face twice the su***de risk of other employed men, and a WA Mental Health Commission study found 33% of FIFO workers experience high psychological distress.

Taking time on site to share mental health resources, discuss staying grounded away from home, and genuinely check in isn't just a once-a-year gesture. It’s how we back each other every day.

Huge thanks to the team at The Jarrah in Hillarys for opening their doors to us recently!

We dropped in a couple of times (to the hidden Irish bar out the back, especially) to film a special video to share with our crew in celebration of our 20-year milestone. Sitting down together, grabbing a b**r and taking a walk down memory lane turned out to be the perfect setting to reminisce on the road so far!

If you’re North of the river, it’s a must-visit this Spring. Great vibes, cracking menu, impressive interior and, most importantly, an exceptional place to grab a cold Guinness and catch up with mates.

A good crew looks out for one another.

Our Head Office team gathered for morning tea today to celebrate R U OK? Day with a bite to eat and a cup of coffee. It was a chance to pause, take a real moment to listen to each other and talk openly about how we keep our mental health in check.

Checking in, being approachable and offering a hand when it's needed is part of how we operate, and we welcomed the opportunity to connect like this today.

Relocating across the globe is a massive step, but moving to WA doesn’t mean starting from scratch.

We’re heading to Dublin for The Relocation Expo at Croke Park! Many of our team made the exact same journey from Ireland to Perth, building great careers on site and in the office.
