Our Property Surveyors observe risks that your team may not notice.
Here is an example. It would be our security recommendation that all doors be fitted with latch guards, not just some.
The absence of a handle should also be observed.
This would make it harder for thieves to pry the door open.
We have recently noticed during our Property Risk Surveys that many companies have been neglecting the maintenance of their water heating systems; we have noted leaks, corrosion, and damage.
Due to lockdowns many properties are vacant for long periods of time and its essential to ensure that any issues are identified and rectified to safeguard the health and safety of staff and visitors.
If these issues are left too long mould and other bacteria can form. Our Surveyors will observe and note if a licensed tradesperson should attend the property.
Social inflation is a trend of escalating insurance costs due to the growing tendency for lawsuits to favour an individual over a company.
Brokers and property owners should be aware of this trend as it means that what used to be considered a small or insignificant reason for a claim can now be substantial.
A Ramsay Services Property Risk Survey is extensive and will cover all relevant risks at your property to potentially assist in reduction of insurance claims.

When there is graffiti present on your property, it can mean that unauthorized individuals are gaining access and going undetected.
This could also indicate the possibility of theft on your premises; so, in addition to allocating funds to rectify the defacement there is a possibility of further loss.
Our Surveyors can provide your business with recommendations to negate this issue.
Just for fun - Lucky for us, we don’t have any haunted hotel Property Risk Surveys booked for today or our surveyors might encounter some extra risky hazards.
Some risks that we observe are quicker fixes than others, such as this car park.
For example - applying a new coat of paint on the parking lines for better definition.
This can reduce the risk of customers walking onto car spaces and possibly getting injured.
It’s small improvements like this that will help to reduce your public liability premium.
The Property Risk Surveys we provide consider multiple risks, modified specifically to suit your property. For example, this site visit completed included a small farm, so our Surveyors made their way down to that section and were greeted by some unruffled employees.
If your Insurance costs are the same annually, it may be a sign that you are due for a Property Risk Survey.
A Property Risk Survey can showcase your security and safety features, possibly reducing your Insurance Premium!

Ramsay Services provide independent insurance risk surveys, with extensive industry experience in assessing properties and asset risk.
One of the major benefits of an external property risk survey, is it avoids the ostrich effect, which is a decision to ignore dangerous or negative information. We are here to provide you with an unbiased, honest and complete report to help you improve your risk management plan.
When we are contracted to complete a property risk survey, we make sure to sit down with the manager at the end of the inspection and give a brief overview of our observations and recommendations. This allows you to better understand the analysis we provide you with, when you receive our thorough report.
We recently completed a site visit and asked the manager when the money was taken to the bank, and her response was every Wednesday at a certain time.
Big risk red flag!
Someone can track that schedule and take negative action. Our surveyors can identify risks that your team might not notice.
One of the risks that we assess in our surveys is that of extraneous perils.
This is the measurement of the likelihood of a natural disaster occurring based on the location of a site.
Establishing this risk allows companies to perform a probabilistic catastrophe model and therefore more accurately update business decisions.
Sunday is national eyewear day –Two of our office girls are included in the 64% that wear glasses worldwide and more women than men have optical assistance.
To help those that need a little extra visual direction we recommend you have all the correct signage on your site. We can help you identify what you need to prioritise your staff and patron’s safety.
The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors put out an interesting webinar a few weeks ago about minimising project risk through big data analytics and AI. Here is the link if you want to check it out: http://ow.ly/u4w450EQVZd and if you would like to minimise other project risks, we can complete a survey and provide you with recommendations.
Join this WBEF webinar to explore the effectiveness of big data analytics to better manage such risks and the use of AI to predict risks.
Each risk element our assessors check for are measured against a risk matrix, to identify the level of risk.
If you are interested in making your company's risk management a priority, we are here to help!

Found a funny little cartoon by Guasbergen that represents risk management.
It is much easier to do this when you know what risks you have and what recommendations can be put in place to avoid wrongdoing.

Dear followers, we are so lucky to have such great supporters on Facebook. The continued appreciation and response from you all is what helped us to reach this position.
Earlier today on our LinkedIn we posted about the difference strength of the search terms ‘risk analysis’ versus ‘risk assessment’ on Google Trends. Go check it out!
Adding onto that is the increase of the search terms over the last three years. We chose one specific week in April to compare data. In 2019, the term ‘risk assessment’ was searched 39 times but in 2021 that number had a small increase to 48. ‘Risk analysis’ on the other hand was searched 17 times in 2019, and in 2021 had considerable growth with the term being searched 42 times. That’s more than double!
We are looking forward to meeting everyone this Friday at the Melbourne Expo, as one of UAC's freshest members! Underwriting Agencies Council
