This week, the Plico Virtual Power Plant was active in NSW for the first time!🔋

While our members simply sat back and got on with their day, their batteries were working together to support the grid and earn them VPP Rewards.

In NSW, eligible Plico VPP members can receive 50c/kWh for energy exported during VPP events, on top of any eligible solar feed-in tariff.

“Do I actually need a battery?” 🤔
It’s a question we hear all the time so let's talk about it.

Think about what happens to all that solar your panels are producing during the day. If you’re not home to use it, a battery gives you somewhere to store that energy so you can tap into it later.

Cooking dinner? Running the air con at night? Settling in for a movie marathon? That’s when having your own stored solar can come in handy. 🔋

So, do you need a battery? Maybe! It really comes down to how and when your household uses energy.
