Father's Day is this Sunday, so we asked a few of our people across our sites and offices what being a dad means to them, or what makes the father figure in their life so special. 🌟 We're sharing their words throughout the week.

Anthony, Mechanic:
“Having kids gives me a reason to work hard, to help build them a better future. I don’t know how to put it into words, it means the world to me being able to be their dad and watch them grow.”

Joe, Head of Marketing and Branding:
“Being a dad means everything to me. It is my greatest accomplishment and responsibility, giving me purpose, perspective and a constant reminder of what matters most. Every day, I try to live by one simple mantra: do it for her.”

Congratulations to Joshua Waterhouse on reaching 15 years with Linkforce! 🙌

A lot can happen in 15 years, and Linkforce has been part of many of Josh’s biggest life moments along the way, from meeting his now wife, to getting married, to becoming a dad to his son and daughter. As life has changed, so have Josh’s priorities, and his journey is a great example of how careers can grow and shift over time.

Josh first joined Linkforce as a boilermaker, around three years after finishing his trade. He worked his way through leadership roles on site and became a Senior Supervisor, before realising that he needed a change. Josh moved into the Perth-based planning team, where he spent three years, learning more about the business and the industry and gaining valuable insights and experience that helped him when he later returned to site.

Back onsite, Josh stepped into senior leadership roles at Port Hedland and Eliwana before becoming Regional Manager for Linkforce’s Fortescue operations. Today, he is Regional Manager, Rope Access, based out of the Welshpool Vertical Services training facility. His mix of site, office and leadership experience has helped shape him into a well-rounded manager, though Josh is quick to say there is always more to learn.

When we asked Josh to look back on his time with Linkforce, what stood out the most are the people that he has met. Over the years, he has worked alongside many great people, and a lot of them have become friends. Anyone who has had the chance to work with Josh would know the warmth, generosity and steady support he brings to all interactions.

Having spent much of his adult life at Linkforce, Josh has seen his priorities shift over the years. Work is still important to him, but family comes first, and that balance is something he values deeply. Whether it is being able to spend weekends with his family, watch his daughter’s dance concerts or coach his son’s Year 2 football team, being there for the everyday moments matters to Josh.

Congratulations, Josh! It has been a privilege to be part of your journey over the past 15 years, and we look forward to celebrating the next milestone with you 🎉

Ryan “Aspo” Aspeling joined Linkforce as a Plant Fitter 15 years ago, taking the first step in what has become a long and rewarding career (so far!) 🎉

His first shutdown was at Rio Tinto’s Yandi, working on an apron feeder change-out. A humble introduction to a new industry, he now laughs recalling how he spent most of the job spotting for hot works and confined space entry.

Since then, Linkforce has grown from a team of fewer than 500 people to more than 3,500, and Aspo has been there for much of the journey. He’s worked across major client operations throughout Western Australia, progressing from Plant Fitter to Leading Hand, Supervisor, Senior Supervisor and Superintendent, before stepping into his current role, Regional Manager – South West & Emerging Clients, earlier this year.

Looking back, Aspo credits the mentors and teammates around him for helping shape the leader he is today. Linkforce gave him the room to build his leadership and management skills, but he’ll tell you it’s the friendships along the way that have made the run worthwhile.

Ask him to pick a favourite memory and he’ll struggle to narrow it down. One that stands out is delivering a pre-start to a crew of over 400 people while standing on a makeshift scaffold platform at Fortescue’s Solomon. A few well-timed jokes, a roar of laughter from the crowd, and the nerves quickly disappeared.

Congratulations, Aspo! Fifteen years of growth, leadership and lasting friendships have made for an incredible journey. Here's to many more mates, memories and milestones in the years to come. 👏

“At first, when the boys suggested getting my scaffolding ticket, I was a bit nervous about heights.”

Meet Nicole, one of our Goldfields-based scaffolders at Linkforce. She joined Linkforce as a Trades Assistant, before starting to help the scaffolding team on smaller tasks. After seeing the work up close, Nicole made the decision to push herself and went for her ticket.

“The amount of time and effort people put into teaching me properly was huge,” Nicole says. “They never just threw me in the deep end.”

Most people think FIFO means hi-vis, red dirt, big skies and long days on site. What often surprises people is the wildlife.

From cattle wandering through camp to dingoes soaking up the morning sun, these unexpected encounters are part of everyday life across many of the sites where we work.

They break up a busy day, spark conversations and remind us how lucky we are to work in some of Australia’s most unique landscapes.

These photos were all captured by Linkforce crew while out on site. These encounters highlight the balance between industry and environment, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and to respectfully coexisting with the unique environments and wildlife around our worksites.

Members of our Perth-based office team recently traded their desks for harnesses, spending the day at our Vertical Services training facility to experience how our rope access technicians train.

Clipping in alongside anchor systems, rescue points and a replica ore chute, they gained a greater appreciation for the planning, precision and technical skill behind our rope access operations.

Whether we’re in an office, workshop, training centre, regional hub or on one of more than 90 client sites, experiences like these help us better understand each other’s work and strengthen the connections that make us one team.

We are 21 days into The Push Up Challenge and we are officially on the home stretch! We’ve come together as a team to raise funds for mental health charities and try and reduce the stigma around these important conversations.

So far, we’ve completed 152,870 push ups and raised $13,292 and have no signs of stopping 💪
