I retired from the full time day job in October so the focus on Aerosim Solutions work can now again be a priority. December and half of January already taken up with parts requests. Thank you all for your continued support folks!

Hi all, it’s been a while since I posted here as things are reasonably quiet at Aerosim Solutions. I do work a day job and most of the flight sim work comes to me from locals here in Australia. I don’t advertise or have a shop front on my very out of date website and that is for a reason. When I did have a web store I was very quickly overwhelmed with orders that I couldn’t keep up with because of my day job.
I just thought I should check in and welcome the growing number of followers and supporters to my page, thank you all. I am planning to work the day job until December 2024 and then I will switch to full time at Aerosim Solutions. The website will get a makeover and get back into making custom simulator parts again.
A new focus will be in General aviation products, I am currently designing a replica Beechcraft B58 Baron throttle quadrant for PC use and this will probably be followed up with a King Air replica. There will be no more airline throttles unfortunately, these units are simply far too time consuming to make a valid profit for the effort required.
Once again, thanks for the support, I will check in and leave a post more often!
Cheers Gwyn

A new project begins - electro/mechanical conversion of a genuine Beechcraft Baron58 throttle quadrant. The customer wants the real parts to remain intact so I’ll be building solutions to suit that mission!

At last I’ve added a laser cutter/engraver added to the Aerosim workshop, it should certainly speed up future panel production when I go full time next year!!

Another project comes to an end this week, a restored 737 TQ will be heading to its new owner in Tasmania soon. This FDS Jetmax throttle quad came to me from a commercial simulator here in Perth. It was in poor shape and not working at all, The commercial sim owners replaced it with a new one. Fifty hours later it is repaired, fully functional and has many Aerosim Solutions upgrades to bring it up to a higher spec than when it first has a new owner!!

This week I’ve been repairing and modifying a failed Jetmax 737 TQ. It had many flaws that I’ve fixed up, including making a new speed brake motor mount, new fuel valve levers, added a horn cut out button, engraved park brake lever and light. The biggest challenge was making the trim wheels work, the Jetmax TQ has a fixed axle so I had to make a drive system within the stand I made for it. I’ve totally rewired it and it will be hooked up to a BU0836X Bodnar card. Another couple of days and it should be ready to fly away to its new owner!!

Hi all,
I’m just reaching out to say I am still around! I’ve been out of making flight sim parts for quite a while now. My day job with the Gov and my night job as a musician keeps me so busy, there is not a lot of time left to take on projects for other builders without impacting family life. At the end of 2024 I will be retiring from the day job and Aerosim Solutions will become the main focus so I will be back, I’m counting down the months!! Cheers Gwyn

A simple way to fit flight controls to a gaming chair using the base plates from the original armrests and few pieces of steel tube welded together. The throttle is attached to an aluminium plate bolted to the 50x3mm mild steel side bracket. The tube frame protrudes forward from the chair the mount the joystick base. The track ball mouse is stuck to an aluminium plate with double sided tape and that plate fixes to the chair bracket with Velcro, this allows the mouse to be detached if it’s needed on the desktop.
