A very well-deserved shoutout to Terence Yanawana, our 2026 Employee of the Year for Operational Excellence.

Terence was unable to join us at our Rising Stars Dinner earlier this year, but we’re very pleased to have now had the opportunity to present him with his award and properly recognise this achievement.

For 14 years, Terence has been a valued part of the MIB Projects team, earning the respect of those around him through his work ethic, commitment to safety and willingness to share his knowledge and experience with others.

Whether he is maintaining site roads to a high standard, supporting less-experienced operators or simply leading by example, Terence consistently demonstrates pride in his work and a genuine commitment to his team.

His professionalism, cultural awareness and quiet leadership reflect what Operational Excellence is all about and embody the STRIDE values we strive for across MIB.

Congratulations, Terence. This recognition is well deserved, and we are proud to celebrate both your achievement and the contribution you continue to make to MIB Projects.

10 YEARS WITH MIB | RICHARD “RICKO” WOODS

This month we’re proud to recognise Richard “Ricko” Woods for an incredible 10 years with MIB Projects.

Ricko joined MIB in September 2016 as an Operator on the FMG Hammersley Rail Maintenance Contract and, over the past decade, has taken on roles including Leading Hand, Grader Operator and Supervisor across both FMG and BHP operations.

Known for doing things properly, knowing his stuff and always having time to help others, Ricko has earned the respect of his crews, our clients and the wider MIB team. Over the years, he has stepped up when needed, shared his knowledge and mentored plenty of people along the way.

Pictured here with Project Manager Cassidy Bergshoeff, we’re very proud to celebrate this milestone and thank Ricko for the hard work, loyalty and contribution he has made to MIB over the past 10 years.

Congratulations on the decade, Ricko — an awesome achievement!

MIB Projects was proud to join BHP at Yandi to celebrate the award of the Yandi Rehabilitation contract.

This opportunity represents more than a project milestone. It reflects the strength of long-term partnerships, the capability of our people and our shared commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes on country. For MIB Projects, it is an opportunity to continue caring for and working on Country, creating pathways for our people, and contributing to the long-term restoration of land with deep cultural and environmental significance.

The event brought together our workforce, leadership team and BHP representatives to celebrate the award and reflect on the importance of the work to be delivered on Country. A smoking ceremony conducted by Kyronne Simmonds highlighted the cultural significance of the land and the shared commitment to its long-term care and restoration.

We are proud to continue creating employment, development and leadership opportunities for our people while partnering with BHP to deliver meaningful outcomes on Country and contribute to its long-term care and restoration.

We thank everyone involved and acknowledge BHP for their continued partnership. We look forward to continuing this important work together.

Restoring Country Together.
