Check out the beautiful new roof on this complex 😍

The units in this complex were experiencing water ingress issues due to an old and worn out asbestos roof. Insulmte were more thn happy to remove the old asbestos roof and install a new Colourbond® Trimdeck roof in Evening Haze 🏠

A ceiling collapse is not something anyone ever wants to experience. Not only do they cause a lot of damage, but they can cause harm to anyone underneath the ceiling when it collapses ⚠️

Ceiling collapse happens when the ceiling boards come away from the timber joists (in the roof) that the boards are adhered to. The ceiling boards may either be screwed into the joists, or strapped to the joists using a mixture of fiberglass material and plaster. Collapse usually occurs due to the deterioration of the strapping or boards coming away from the screws.

The best way to avoid a ceiling collapse is to regularly check your ceilings. Common telltale signs that ceiling sag has started include cracks in the ceiling or cornices, cornices coming away from the walls or screw holes appearing in the ceiling. If you are concerned ceiling sag has started on your roof, place your hands on the ceiling and gently push the ceiling up. If you detect any movement, that's a good indication that the ceiling is starting to come down!

The aged tiled roofs on these units were experiencing numerous water ingress issues and the decision was made to replace the roofs with Colourbond® Trimdeck sheeting in Dune 🫶🏼

This project definitely had its challenges, due to some early winter rain - when planning your roof replacement, we always recommend the summer months, but this doesn’t always work out! We take the challenge caused by unexpected weather in our stride and work with our clients to try and ensure the smooth running of the project 🙏🏼

The unit roofs look absolutely beautiful now and water ingress issues are a thing of the past 💖

Here’s a throwback to a roof replacement we completed earlier this year - doesn’t it look stunning 🤩

The previous metal sheeting roof on this house was experiencing water ingress issues due to being old and rusted. Inspection by one of our experienced roofers also revealed that sections of the roof and flashing had not originally been installed to building code 😳

The owners decided to replace their aged roof with Zincalume trimdeck sheeting. Zincalume is strong, durable and long lasting and less expensive than Colourbond®, however it does only come in this standard grey colour. It’s a great choice for many homes such as this! 😎

The owners are over the moon with their new roof, and so are we 🥰

The old roof on this house was experiencing water ingress issues; an inspection by one of our experienced roofers revealed that the tiles were pitting (see slide four) and that on some sections of the roof the tiles were pitched at too low an angle to prevent water ingress in heavy rain ⛈️

The owners decided to replace their aged tiled roof with Colourbond® Trimdeck sheeting in Manor Red 🫶🏼

When was the last time you checked out your gutters? 🤔

Well functioning gutters are essential for collecting rainwater and diverting it away from your house. You soon know when they’re not working, as all kinds of water ingress occurs when it rains! 🌧️

So how do you know if it’s time to replace your gutters? Look out for these tell tale signs:

1. Water is pooling in the gutters
2. Gutters have cracks appearing
3. Gutters have peeling paint
4. Gutter seams coming apart, sagging or pulling away from your house
5. Build up of mould, mildew or dirt inside the roof or along areas near gutters such as the eaves

If you're wondering what the team got up to last weekend, we were running/walking/scrambling/dying up a massive hill down in Bedfordale in a Perth Trail Run series known as the Bloated Goat 🐐

Safe to say, getting through an event such as this is definitely a bonding experience. Many of the team absolutely smashed it, with three of them covering over 12km 💪And some of us very much enjoyed being part of the team, but will actively avoid any future events that include running up vertical red pebble hills 😂

If you saw any of the guys moving a little slowly on the job this past week, now you know why!

What a way to start the week 🌊

The Insulmate team have signed up to do a trail run event in a couple of week's time, which has been great inspo to get a little more exercise in these days 🏃‍♂️

The trail run is going to be a tough slog but luckily we'll have the support of the team to make it (drag ourselves) to the finish line.

Yikes! This is was what we found during a routine roof inspection a couple of weeks ago 😮 As you can see, there is substantial tile collapse along the ridge, which would have led to all sorts of internal damage during winter weather 😱

We organised for our roof tilers to complete emergency repairs the next day (swipe to see the repaired roof!) - our client's safety is number one, so we'll always prioritise getting repairs like this completed ASAP!👷‍♂️

This roof is a great reminder of the importance of having your roof checked out during the summer, so any issues can be detected and resolved before winter ☔

Giving this beautiful Balinese style hut a new (waterproof!) roof was such a fun project for the team 🎉

We had some material issues at the start of this project 😦 However, the beautiful weather, uniqueness of the project and working with two very awesome clients made this project super enjoyable - not to mention a fabulous end result! 🥰💫
