Old fashioned service using modern techniques with a focus on effective communication to achieve exact results. VPLG (originally known as V&P Lawn & Garden Contractors) was started by my father Vincenzo (Vince) Auriemma back in 1975. Vince was an immigrant from the city of Naples, Italy who at the age of 26, travelled to Australia via ship on the MS Achille Lauro in late 1964 in search of a better

life. Not long after in 1965 he met & fell in love with my mother Pauline and they married in the spring of 1965...Hence the name V&P (Vince & Pauline)

Vince's working background as a young man back in Italy was in shoe making however he chose to do other types of work when he started his new life in Australia. He worked as a truck driver at a local drum factory in North Fremantle which later moved to South Fremantle along Cockburn Rd and to this day is still there in full operation. So how did Vince get into lawn & garden maintenance, well while my parents were young & building their first home, they lived at my grand mother Florence's (Pauline's mother) house in Hamilton Hill. Florence bought a small lawn mower for Vince to do her lawns which he did and was very thorough at it. Over time a few of the neighbours noticed how neat and tidy Vince's work was and how Flo's gardens always looked so well kept with Vince looking after them so they asked him if he could do their lawns and so he did! The business grew very quickly with just the word of mouth and soon Vince had many customers. One of his customers mentioned to Vince that there was a position available as a groundsman at Santa Maria College in Attadale, Vince applied for the job and was successful. Within a few years the school offered Vince the contract to look after the grounds as a private contractor which he accepted and so officially, V&P Lawn & Garden Contractors was born. Over the years V&P Lawn & Garden Contractors has serviced many customers, residential & commercial. Some of which include companies like BHP Bluescope, Austal Ships, Anchor Foods, medium & large commercial facilities, Local Government, schools, many major Strata management companies throughout Perth which means we cover from as far north as Joondalup, south to Rockingham and east to Armadale.
