In summer letting your potted plants dry out is an invitation to ants!

🐜Avoid ant infestations by checking that your pots have not dried out.
🐜If your potting mix has become water repellent, replace it with a premium potting mix such as Richgro Black Marvel Potting Mix and add a soil wetter such as Richgro Ezi-Wet Soil Soaker.

This will help get the water right down to the roots where it’s needed.

🍂Think about mulch as being your garden’s sunscreen.

You’ll want to put it on, and make sure you top it up at least once, but preferably twice, a year for maximum benefits.

🍂This extra layer of organic material helps to conserve water, keep ground temperatures cooler and keep w**ds at bay.

🍂Reduce water loss by adding mulch to your garden and pots, apply Richgro Pinebark mulch to a depth of 25mm-50mm or until area appears neat and well covered, this slows water into the ground, preventing run off but also suppresses w**d growth and water evaporation.
A good tip if you are topping up mulch, always water thoroughly before mulching.
