We can't get enough of these curves. 🖤
Material selection is a critical part of the design process. For us performance is as important as aesthetics, we want your build to look this good in years to come.

Our cabinet maker Shannon is an integral member of the Red Lily build team, he’s the guy who brings our cabinetry ideas, concepts, and drawings to life.
Crafting this handmade kitchen was undoubtedly a labour of love for Shannon - or at least that's what he told us!

Is it even a Red Lily reno without our trademark freestanding fireplace?
This beautifully crafted cast iron fire sits proudly on our custom concrete bench.

Nothing rivals the inherent beauty and organic nature of natural stone.
If your budget permits and natural stone is on your wish list, our designers will gladly explore local stone yards in search of the perfect slab that complements your space.

The addition of a butler's pantry remains high on many of our client's renovation wish-list - but not all butler pantries are created equal, and we believe that without considered design they’ll soon become redundant spaces no one wants to use.
This little beauty exemplifies clever design, tucked away enough to be considered its own zone whilst remaining very much connected to the greater kitchen.
Whilst we have your attention, let's pause to admire the custom window we had built! 🖤
These scrumptious fabrics are soon to adorn our clients pool-side furniture.
We hope to be invited over for cocktails by the pool this summer. 🌴🍹
We approach interior design with an open mind and curiosity. We get creative with layout, proportions, materials, colours, and lighting.
This is going to be a fun one - we look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Powder rooms are a great place to have a little fun and take a little risk. These micro-spaces are frequented by homeowners and visitors alike, so why not surprise and delight. 💫
In this sweet little powder we wrapped a striking natural stone slab around the room to half height, added a feature tile, and installed statement lighting and copper tapware. We love it. 🖤

Our client has nicely stocked the little dry bar we designed to be concealed seamlessly behind these doors.

We love blending the rawness of concrete with the warmth of timber.
Our build team have the expertise to turn our architectural concrete designs into reality, and when combined with timber magic happens.
When it comes to residential building design, size isn't everything. Our expert team know how to maximise the potential of your home, frequently making a big impact by simply using existing structures in a reimaged way.
With clever design, we believe that beauty and functionality can be found in even the smallest of footprints.
Wall lights are having a real moment in lighting design, and we are onboard.
For our design team, these fixtures offer a perfect blend of form and function, and they’re fast becoming a go-to when specifying lighting on behalf of clients.
These are some of our favourites ✨
Our design team cleverly designed this small family bathroom to feel bright, light, and joyous. By using colour with confidence, we can transform spaces and evoke emotions for our clients.
SAVE for design inspo for your future bathroom renovation ✨
When seeking to add texture and interest through material selection, our design team frequently turn to bricks.
The juxtaposition of our modern building designs combined with the rawness of bricks makes for warm, welcoming, and interesting spaces.
We love to stack, curve, paint, hit and miss them.
Today, we're shining a spotlight on a crucial but often overlooked aspect of building design - ceilings! Our team are focused on creating a flawless transition between existing dwellings and new extensions. Ceilings are the bridge uniting these two zones, and we see this as an opportunity to create a moment.
A well-designed roof pitch / ceiling can impact natural light, ventilation, the sense of space, and over all wow-factor.
Here are some of our recent favourites.
We’re loading up the colour, pattern, and texture in this materials board! In recent years we’re seeing a huge resurgence in the application of terracotta tones used in both interior and exterior design. Terracotta is a burnt, earthy colour that naturally evokes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, because of this it’s a Red Lily studio favourite.

Introducing Fugabella grout! It’s no secret that we love adding colour into our projects, so for the design team this delicious looking sample box represents endless possibilities. Colourful grout is a clever and often cost-effective way of introducing colour and pattern play into your wet areas.
Fugabella Color is a new Italian-made grout produced with Resina-cemento® hybrid technology. Unlike traditional cement grouts, the resin component helps to eliminate the risk of efflorescence, shading and provides long term colour stability.
Thanks for our sample box.
Where possible, we embrace the outdoors into our home designs. Today, we share with you our stunning breezeway design that seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor spaces of our client’s home. With its cleverly positioned windows, our breezeway serves as a natural conduit, channelling cool breezes and gentle sunlight throughout the home.
We hope to create more of these beauties in future projects.
Not all our projects require council approval, but when they do - we take care of it for you!
We understand the intricacies of local council compliance matters, and we’re here to guide clients through all regulatory requirements. Among others we know the big guys like Stirling, Cambridge, Fremantle, and Joondalup, and our smaller councils like Cottesloe, Nedlands, and Subiaco.

Breaking the barn door stereotype // Contrary to popular belief, barn doors aren't exclusively for farmhouse-style homes anymore! They have become a versatile design element that we’ve incorporated in various projects with differing interior design styles - including here at the Red Lily Studio.
Not only do barn doors serve as stunning visual element (we love to paint them), but they also maximise space! Slide them open and reveal hidden storage, create room dividers, or hide your pantry behind one.
Congratulations to our clients - their Development Application has been approved and is ready for the go ahead!
This 1960’s original brick home has exciting potential to create 360-degree river, city, and ocean views. With a clever design we were able to meet the local planning policy guidelines, and our team was able to justify the design decisions during a local planning meeting – well done team!
We’re excited to start this one in 2024.
✨FUN FACTS // This is Livia our building designer - she’s responsible for creating designs for our renovation and extensions, documenting these designs for approvals and construction, and giving the builders advice on the design materials.
These are four facts you might know about being a building designer:
1 / It's all about problem-solving; we love a puzzle!
2 / We work to bring the vision of your home to life - we’re detail orientated and work on multiple drafts to create the perfect design solution bespoke to your lifestyle and taste.
3 / We are experts at thinking outside the box to bring you a home that is well-designed, looks great, stands the test of time, is delivered on budget, and reflects you - the homeowner.
4 / To us, facts are feelings. We don’t just design home, we create an experience for you to live in.
We love kitchen islands, they are multifunctional and come in all shapes and sizes! Kitchen islands make the most of a space and create design centrepieces with beautiful material finishes. Oversized islands can be a design focus and define the space in an open plan area, all your storage needs are covered and right where you need them. They allow smooth transitions and flow of people. The kitchen island is such a social space and with our homes working harder than ever as an office space.
SWIPE for DESIGN INSPO // Everyone swooned over the before and after we posed last week of this chic Millendon farmhouse – so here’s the mood board we curated to inspire the result.
We worked closely with this client to bring her luxurious vision to life for this family home while still preserving the country farmhouse feel.

Thinking about renovating your bathroom but worried about space? These are our top five design ideas for small bathrooms: Layout/ Designing for small spaces is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. If you have a long, narrow space, place everything along one wall and the shower at the end. This will give you more room to move around and open the space up to appear bigger. Mirrored Cabinets/ Mirrored cabinets serve a dual purpose in providing a mirror and storage in one. They are perfect for storing all your little bathroom knick-knacks and help keep the benches clear and clean. Floating Vanity/ A floating vanity gives the appearance of a bigger bathroom. It also provides extra storage space for baskets underneath or a set of bathroom scales. Tiles/ The wrong tile selection will cause a small bathroom space to look busy. We recommend using a large gloss white tile, as it gives a clean and crisp look and will help the space appear bigger and seemingly more expensive. Recess/ Install a recess instead of a shelf or ledge in the shower. If the shower space is particularly small, an inverted recess will help avoid cutting into the space and give you more room. Check out this amazing before & after transformation of a small bathroom we did for our Redfern Street clients!
We are so proud of our founder Jo for her awesome interview on the latest episode of That Property Podcast, hosted by Andrew Graham and presented by @rma_aus. Check out the show notes below, and have a listen via the link in our bio!
SAVE FOR DESIGN INSPO/ This cute Subiaco home was a challenge! Keep reading to find out more ⬇️ The owners bought this beautiful house in Subiaco with their children as a renovation project. The front half of the house was fantastic and worked well for them, but the back half required a design overhaul. Once I got started, the existing extension turned out to be one of the worst-built extensions I had ever seen! A lot of remedial work needed to be done including brick repair and timber framing to keep the house going for the next family and beyond. @liv_hawker got to work and designed a clever roof to keep as much of this original build as she could. It was a big challenge with a small budget. In the kitchen, we created a modern Hamptons feel using amazing Calcutta Nova Caesarstone to create a large kitchen island and benchtops with waterfall edges. This house now also has a huge laundry, loads of storage, a freestanding bath and a separate toilet. To connect the indoors to the outdoors we extended the indoor tiling to the alfresco, used stacking doors, breezeblocks an outdoor shower, and flush flooring level seamless finished inside to outside. DESIGN || This is where we start. The basic floor plan. For us, it doesn't look like a 2D plan. It comes to life in our minds in 3D as we visualise how the space looks. That's why we get so excited during this stage. Its so much fun for our minds to play.
TESTIMONIAL Part 1 || Anthony and Justine love Scarborough and they loved their home, but it was pokey and not working for them. So they contacted us to talk about renovating. See how we transformed this old bright and pokey house into an entertainers dream. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OufS_23Fo3E #perthrenovations #housenerd #brickfireplace #ensuite #skylight #redlilyrenos #kristywarwicksmith #scabsontheup #scarboroughbluffs
We specialise in Whole Home Renovations. You can save $10,000’s by using the existing floor space rather than adding more. I’ve seen it time and time again. Call me to have a chat about what’s possible with your space.
I’ve just finished this unit in Nedlands and I thought I’d record some of the things Sophie and I were chatting about. It’s one of my favourite parts of the Renovation because I get to see how much my clients love their new homes and I want to share it with you. I have zero photography skills and usually leave this to the professionals. Threw this together with iMovie. Oh and For the first time, I realised why people use selfie sticks!! Eek!! Hope you enjoy!!
THE REVEAL || Our client wanted to create an ensuite for her son and didn’t want to to look girly. The home is an old Victoria style with a hint of Art Deco, gorgeous ceilings and jarrah features. We used the hallway space (1100mm) wide and popped in an ensuite. Herringbone and Barn door hint to the original style. But with a twist. Mirror on cabinet will be installed soon.
Red Lily Extension || Very raw sketch up video of an extension we built. We added the kitchen, dining, lounge, laundry and alfresco to this Art Deco house.
INTERIOR DESIGNER || Sarah talks about the role of an interior designer and how she brings the concepts to life.
